  1. Good Info. Thanks for spelling it out for me!
  2. Awesome work here. The paintwork is really impressive. I've got this kit myself and this is inspiring me a lot.
  3. Well thanks folks. The videos were helpful starting point. I don't yet know if I'm going to try acrylics (I used to use enamels only). I'll have to see what I end up deciding. I hope to start my first build log here soon so I'll probably just ask for tips as I go. Can you do the typical oil weathering over enamels if you put an acrylic clear between them. And can you use enamel and oils over lacquer clears?
  4. I've been pouring over the completed section here and some other places and I see a lot of builds with some really convincing weathering. What I can seem to find is some good step by step tutorials suited for someone starting new. I've never really gone with heavy weathering because I don't really know how or where to start. A lot of the builds I've gone through really only give simple information that seems to assume a certain level of knowledge for the people reading it. Is there anywhere I can find some how-tos? I'm not talking about your basic washes and those things. I am more interested in advanced things like paint fading, flaking, stains and streaks, mud and dust, etc.
  5. I was doing looking into the Revell Ju 88 and He 111 specifically when I came across the Promodeler release of each for an insanely discounted price (compared to elswhere). The Ju 88 was marked at $27 and the HE 111 at $38. I couldn't resist grabbing them, but then found myself wondering what exactly the differences in the boxings are. I'm having a heck of a time finding any details (build threads/reviews) of them via google. Any thoughts on the specific differences?
  6. This is really nice. I've got one of these that I want to start soon. Those seatbelts are really nice and it looks like the kit has nice detail. Your painting is really great too. Nice depth
  7. Wowzers this is a really impressive build you have got going sir. I do look forward to more.
  8. Wow. This is most impressive. I am not sure if it makes me want to build and share more or less. Dont know that I can come close to matching that. Excellent.
  9. Thank you everyone for the welcomes. Last time I was building heavily posting pictures on a forum was a little more complicated and less common. I would love to join in the fun though so please let me get my little cubby hole set up and amass some supplies and I will be building soon.
  10. Forgive me if this isn't the proper place. I usually see introduction sections on forums but so help me if I'm not finding one here. Unfortunate life circumstances has had me away from the hobby for more than 10 years. I wont bore anyone with details or air my drama but it has been really hard for me to find any motivation to put time into much of anything other than just surviving day to day. The good news is I no longer have anything (or anyone) holding me back from enjoying myself or the hobby I used to love. I was out doing some business the other day and for the first time in as long as I can remember I went in a hobby store. I walked out with a Revell 109. I was suprised at how much 1/32 stuff was avaliable compared to the last time I was building. Since bigger is almost always better I thought maybe thats a good place to start. I really am itching to make a go at my first build in forever. Hopefully browesing the forum will help motivate me to act on it and just open the box and go for it. I havent forgotten how to swim I dont think. I just need to get used to the temprature of the water again maybe. Thank you for letting me share. It is good to be here. Justin
