  1. Thanks Mal, now is you turn with your bented wing bird, every day keep watching your progress Jorge
  2. As i promised last week, here is the bird ready for your inspection, enjoy the pics gentleman
  3. GENTLEMAN, i can call this project DONE, you can visit the display on the READY FOR INSPECTION FORUM, as always any improvement or detail noticed by you guys are all welcome, with this i say goodbye to this forum cause i am returning to my natural scale that is 1/48, i will keep reading here but till my next 1/32 project i will not be posting any WIP, thanks for all your support and kind words during this 6 months more or less Jorge
  4. Mal, that is what i did, i painted all the parts separate and then glue them together, what i do with tamiya paints is i use the lacquer thinner instead of the X-20A thinner , the lacquer thinner dissolves the pigment of the paint better than the x-20A and i get a real smooth finish and wont dry that fast. Jorge
  5. to all of you gentleman, your words of encouragement were my inspiration to achieve this nice looking bird, so in this days i will try to finish it, and then will go to the official photo shot session then i will return to my real scale, 1/48, when tamiya comes out with a P-47 then i will return to this scale, hope some day they come up with the jug Jorge
  6. Peter, looks great, now it look like a Viper, keep waiting for the final dress, for sure it will look awesome
  7. FINAL UPDATE, this baby is growing fast, after 3 months is standing on his own two feet, flaps are on, so what is left is to attach the engine and cowlings and some minor details like exhaust pipes ends and some minor paint touch ups and some paneling fixing, so here are the last pictures, next time you see this baby will be in the ready forum. Jorge
  8. that prop looks like just came out of the manufacturer shop, looks great
  9. Mal, thanks for your words on my corsair, it mean lot to me coming from a modeller that builds great models as you do, i dont like to use oil washes on the paint, all the diferents colors on the blue comes out directly from the airbrush, on the paneling i did some rivets on white to depict rivets head with chipped paint, as in real airplanes the chipping starts on the rivets then keep growing in size. Neo, lots of people ask me the same question, and i do this only on tamiyas models, cause the fitting is so perfect Sluggo, thanks and yes they were a pain in the arss to have a nice insignias and numbers done, many touch ups till i got this final result
  10. thanks guys, Kev i just used Tamiya extra thin glue, and as i told, the fitting is so nice that goes together by itself, just in the botton of the fuselage i used just a little putty to cover the joint of both parts, and just taped the panel where the line was and then repainted that panel only
  11. that is right Brian, closeups are killer some times, it brings out all the flaws in a model
  12. i'm back again, just a little progress, the fuselage is paneled and slightly weathered and the wings as well as the elevators and rudder in place, starting to look like a corsair, the insignias and the BuN are painted, didn't like the decals, to thick and won't let the rivet under them to be seen, so i painted them
  13. Hello everyone, finally the wing are glued together, and also the little details are on, just still have to add the stall retardant on the leading edge of the wing, the rest of the lenses for the lights are on, here is a general look from the top and bottom of the wings, sorry for the reflection of the lights on the wing to fuselage section on the top picture and here are some closeup details of the upper and lower wings general look of the right wing with the fuel filler cap gunports as they are taped before takeoff, i kind of like it, comments are welcome closeup of the left hand side wing the underside of the wing with the landing light CHAPTER 2 The fuselage paint is ready, at least the heavy part, no paneling or weathering yet, just airbrush work so far, rudder just placed in position for picture purpose only
  14. good another Corsair, production is increasing in this forum, nice cockpit so far, keep the good work mate Jorge
  15. Thanks guys, James, i agree with you, i will fade the top of the fuselage little bit, but i will do it with tamiya weathering powder when the clear coat is on
  16. as i stated earlier in this post, i started the paint job on the fuselage, so far only airbrush work on the dark blue, no clear coat yet, neither paneling or weathering at all, when this step are done the fuselage will darken the tone of the blue, need opinions, should i leave it like this?
  17. David i am doing this on every Tamiya model, because is easy to manipulate just parts than the hole airplane at once, Tamiya's fitting is so perfect that you dont need any putty at all
  18. I don't see the day it will be done, as a second hobby and a legacy from my father is the photography, my passion is flying and also my life, i want to have a nice pictures set of this bird next to my silver horse (P-51D) from tamiya also, posing both together , i think by the end of June it will be ready, thank god work is in the low side cause the office (plane) is grounded till the end of June, so i will push to finished before work kicks hard again. Jorge PD: again thanks to you all for the kind words about my bented wing bird , and as reminder, critics good or bad are always welcome, that is what makes us better in this hobby, and also sorry if i am a person of few words only, this is because english is not my strongest part
  19. thanks guys for the kind words again, Kev, generally i am faster building models, but work is keeping me away from the bench, and for me if i spend that much time away from the bench, my motivation is hard to get it back and start working again on the model, but once i got it back is like an addiction Cheers Jorge
  20. finally i am back, found some time to seat in front of the bench with the Corsair, not much done, just flaps , ailerons and horizontal stabilizer, all the pieces are dry fitted so far, when the fuselage is done i will start to glue everything together.
  21. I cant beleive i miss this one, i just read that you are building this one Peter, i love the the job so far, specially the weathering you have done on the wheel wells, from now on i will follow this build. The best way to buy Tamiyas 1/32 is on pre-order, i got my Corsair for about $118 including shipping from Japan on a pre-order link in Hobbylink Japan. Jorge
  22. Thanks Peter, i want to go home as soon as possible to continue the work on the bent wing bird, it is really addictive to build it
  23. Mal, for sure Loic resin parts are one great add to the Corsair, it brings life to the model, i gave lots of thoughts to use it or not, but at the end it looks wonderful, i am planning to leave the engine open on the left side and the right side will be close
