oppenheimer replied to oppenheimer's topic in Non-LSP Works
well Peter, the hours i spent sleeping will be a secret, this happens when the kids are out of the house and the girlfriend is gone (that is my secret) -
So i need it a break from the prowler, so i got this one, done in 3 days, it was a relaxing moment in modeling, not much weathering, just glue and some paint and decals

EA-6B FRANKEN PROWLER 1/48( first kinetic model ever and last)
oppenheimer replied to oppenheimer's topic in Non-LSP Works
so i have finished the rest of the top side of the fuselage, and after spending the hole morning deliberating about decal or paint for the Hawk on the tail, i went for the easiest one paint, it dont look that bad, it gives some personality to the prowler -
EA-6B FRANKEN PROWLER 1/48( first kinetic model ever and last)
oppenheimer replied to oppenheimer's topic in Non-LSP Works
Yes it is a crappy kit, but with patience and dedication you can get a nice prowler, the worst is the fitting of wings to fuselage and the details that had to be done again rivet by rivet and all the panel lines redone Yes i will do it with wings folded to save space on the shelve Jorge -
hey guys, here are some pictures of my WIP on the Kinetic 1/48 EA-6B Prowler, slowly it is starting to look like a Prowler, still need to add some more weathering on the center fuselage section the nose will remain the same as the real Prowler dont get so dirty on the nose section and after the wings and the vertical stab Kind of like how the walkways are coming along
-
Lud13, hasegawa's F-15 wasn't exactly a great model either, lots of putty on the intakes and wings to fuselage joints, i think the best in 1/48 is the one from GWH
-
thanks guys, Peter, the prowler is progressing slowly cause to get a nice looking navy weathered planes is not easy, but is coming along nicely i think Jorge

Hi guys, i am not lost from this forum, i have not found anything in 1/32 to build that will inspire me so here is one of the latest in my regular scale 1/48, just added the Aires cockpit and after burner decals, the rest is out of the box.

Mals Way, Corsair, USS Bunker Hill, Carrier Deck, Part II.
oppenheimer replied to Mal_Belford's topic in Works in Progress
Mal, sorry to see all the trouble generated by this incident, one suggestion, try to drill a hole in the middle of the landing gear and stick a metal rod in it to join both parts using a strong glue, that will help to get the landing gear together Jorge -
Tamiya F-16CJ:UPDATE:8/29/15: DONE AND IN THE BOOKS
oppenheimer replied to a topic in Works in Progress
beautiful viper Peter, i dont like tamiya's decal also, they are to thick and wont comform to the surface. I used to do the same as you do, just use the main decals and the small data left it out just for the tedious work it is, but after i did my 1/48 F-4E with all the data (200+ decals), i foud that all the small decals gives life to the model in an incredible way, right now i am working on a 1/48 F-104G and i have put 170+ decals on that small plane and looks amazing, try to use all the decals available and you will see how much life you will give to the model. Darren, i am using a 2 light setup, the corsair is sitting on top of black acrylic sheet, the orange color comes from a orange wall that is behind the acrylic sheet, this sheet is 6 feet long by 4 feet wide Jorge
