  5. Oh not to worry I am proceeding with the 1/32 Mystery Ship. It is my next full kit release. I am putting the interior together now. The white metal parts and decals are already on hand too. This will be followed by a all new 1/48 Felixstowe . It has a 24" wing span.
  6. Sadly I had to cancel my reservations and attendance at this years upcoming national model convention. This is not something I wanted to do. It is a major part of my year in both income and advertising. Getting to meet so many of you, my customers face to face is one of the big reasons I like to go. You get to meet the man behind the curtain and talk shop. I wish I could have made it but just too many other things needing my attention right now and preparing for the event was getting shoved further and further off and too close to the event to really be ready to go. So, sorry if some of you were hoping to come by and purchase some of my new 1/32 scale items. Hope those of you that go have a great time! Mike
  7. Just a note to let you know my anniversary sale has continued and will come to an end on Monday 30% off on everything. Mike
  8. I will soon have the 1/32 AT-6/Tora-Tora-Tora conversion done and all of the F-11C conversion is done and mold making will begin next week. The Bugatti is also progressing towards completion and release will most likely be at this years IPMS National Convention. Somewhere in there the Travelaire Mysteryship is getting released as well. Both early and late type seats with harness are available for the T-6 and the T-6G seats without harness are also available along with ribbed and diamond tread tires. These will all be listed this week on my site. 1/32 Products Link Mike
  9. Mike did refer to WNW doing one in 1/32 not 1/48. Thank you all for your well wishes. I hope to stay at this a while longer. I enjoy it ,it pays my bills and I have met some great and very talented people because of it. Mike
  10. I have asked here for photos but so far nothing .
  11. Well everyone.... After my last post I pulled the F-11C parts box out and took a look at what is left to do. The new lower wings have already been boxed up for molding. So here is the deal. I just relisted the conversion on the top of the 1/32 page on my site. with a photo of the parts some months ago posing for a photo. Parts list and description plus pricing and estimated availability also posted . If you take advantage of me..er,um I mean my current sale, that should offset the cost of buying a new Hasegawa kit to complete this project on your end. So if enough orders come through I will be molding week after next. Thanks for the inspiration to finish another project. www.lonestarmodels.com Mike Kev, I have you earmarked for a review sample. Grant I have not forgotten you either!
  12. Right now Regards the F-11C/BFC2 I can go one of two ways.. A whole kit which would cost more for you, or as a conversion for the BF2C-1 kit Conversion would have new fuselage and both styles of aft turtledeck fairings for the F-11C and BF2C, interior, all new landing gear ( main and tail) and new lower wings , bely tank, plus a small black and white decal sheet. You could use the top wing, engine ,prop and cowling and some of the kit decals. Even the bombs and their wing racks. Would reduce your cost as a conversion and mine since less rubber would be needed. That top wing is pretty long and would require around $300.00 worth of rubber. I am leaning towards the conversion since Hasegawa has now re-released the base kit.
  13. Honestly? I can not say. Heck! I never hit them anyway! Seems always some glitch or such causes a delay. I'll post info when it is firm. Mike
  14. Greetings all. 2014 marks 30 years that I have been in business making resin and vacuformed after market sets and kits. Kinda snuk up on me! To celebrate this event and also commemorate the beginning of WW-I, I will be re-releasing my 1/48 Felixstowe kit. Not probably something considered large scale here but it does have a two foot wing span. Some have been asking about the AT-6 Hollywood Zero conversion. I just poured rubber on the last of the masters this morning. Once these cure I will be able to finish up the canopy master too. I expect to have this kit listed in 2 to 3 weeks. The new tire sets for the Kittyhawk T-6 will be ready next week. Two tread patterns, diamond and ribbed. Photos and pricing will be posted this weekend. The F-11C/BFC2 kit is finished, I just need to pour the molds. Same for the Travelaire Mystery Ship. Making molds is a big financial investment and I have to spread them out over months to afford the material ,hence the delays. That's about it for now. Mike www.lonestarmodels.com
  15. Gentlemen, I know some of you have built this set by now. Could or would you send me a few photos of the set built? I get inquiries about this set and all want to see a photo. I have a photo on my site but it isn't enough for most . Please send your pics to LSMODELS@PDQ.NET Thanks, Mike
  16. I am confused Kev as to why you needed to clamp the center section? I just put a bit of solvent in the center section for the fuselage tabs and inserted the fuselage , then I glued the wing s to the fuselage at the top surface wing root and all was good. Mike
  17. I would cut the red/white part into a strip then into sections and install one at a time. Same for the blue with stars. I would spray the nose blue then put on the blue with stars a section at a time or maybe even cut the stars loose with a blue surround and position each as you choose. I assembled my wing center section as a unit then attached it to the fuselage and I had no issues. I think much of this kits problems are over engineering. Trim the locator tabs off and take your time. It can be built. I have finished worse! Just a shame it is not an AT-6 of WW II usage or not a true T-6G as used for spotting in Korea. Even having it as a correct French Moroccan used aircraft would have been nice. It is obvious now that Kitty Hawk cares little for correct research or accuracy in their products. They will have to release something very special for me to buy another of their products. Mike
  18. KEV, I had problems installing the wheel bay interior parts so I trimmed all of the locators off and that seemed to solve the problem. May also be why mine fits better than your does? I did not have the issue you have had as pictured here. PS You are welcome to my decals as well. I am converting mine into a Hollywood Zero so will not use any of them. Grey primer with a black cowling ,so easy even a Cave Man could do it. Mike
  19. The 1/32 Heath Baby Bullet kit is now available as is the B model P-61 nose and T-6G seats both with and without harness molded on. The AT-6 Hollywood Zero Conversion for the Kitty Hawk T-6 will be available in about two weeks. Between now and the IPMS National Convention the Bugatti and Travelaire Mystery Ship should be available. My next planned 1/32 kit will be a Curtiss JN-4. More info on these can be found at www.lonestarmodels.com Mike
  20. I know what OK means. It is a term used here in the US for a very long time same as Okee Dokie! You may be right on this but seems a non issue to most. If it really bothers any of you a swipe of a bit of putty should soften the line. I am not going to bother with it on mine. Mike
  21. OK? So you refer to the leading edge area of this part? If that is what you are speaking of? Then yeah it does look a bit pointed. After mine dried I just rounded it off a bit. Make sure you get the two gear well interior detail parts in correctly or you will not be able to install the center section top parts. I removed all of the locating pins on mine and that made it much easier. Kevin mentioned a problem with the center section trailing edge? I am missing something, I don't see it in his photos and had no problem on mine. However you can mess that edge up if you are not careful removing it from the sprue. I almost did and it was a bit janky along that edge but a swipe of a sanding stick fixed it. Mike
  22. I am not sure I follow your comment about the wheel upper surface? and wheel cover? The fin looks not to be offset at all.
  23. if is permissible to e-mail me direct I can forward my article on correcting the gear location. There must be a connection issue with this site and my computer. Followed the photo post directions and it just sits there. Mike
