  1. this is the jet i will do with a later loadout courtesy of jakubs site, an excellent DS reference, couldnt do witout it thanx for looking
  2. first i tried the fit of the CAM A cockpit, mainly because somebody asked on LSP if it would fit (its made for the hasegawa kit) i kinda got sucked into this build, i didnt plan to start it fit was looking pretty easy, but turned to be quite some work, mainly the fitting of the side panels
  3. now that the F-18 is finished, i realized i cant live without an online build i have another project going, using the old revell F-16 (tigermeet boxing) i will convert it to a block 10 A model and use the GPU-5 gunpod that was used during the first day of desert storm (seems it didnt do too well). this pod is part of the ancient revell F-15 strikeeagle preproduction kit and i dont know any other use for it. why the revell kit? 1) its easiest converted to an A block 10 because it has the least details 2) i want a lot of versions of the F-16 on my shelf, but cant afford to make them all tamiya 3) have you ever felt that you maybe cant do a very good kit as the tamiya offering justice? converting that or the academy kit would require rescribing, something i avoid the surface detail of the revell kit is not only incorrect, its also raised for the most part, so i will settle for a model that gives the impression of an F-16, just for fun 4) if i screw up, i wont bite my rear 5) i hate leftover parts when i cant put them to good use: my academy kit has a nice smallmouth intake (something the revell offering misses altogether), nice exhaust and a second canopy - i deal for using on the revell kit 6) low$$$ so bear with me when this build is not up to par with the others on here decals are from superscale, i have the cutting edge A- stabs and will use a maverick from the academy F-18 as well as a ALQ-119 pod from a revell F4C
  4. wow, what a task, very brave i didnt even know the plane
  5. thank you all makes me feel warm and cozy
  6. thanx texas, your comments kept me going
  7. Thanx youngtiger I have a revell F16A of the NY ANG during DS in the final stages of painting. Got buildpics of this one too (I used leftover academy parts for the intake and exhaust, a CAM cockpit and a belly mounted gunpod from the revell strikeeagle kit) Don't know if anybody is interrested Next will be a DS hunter from oman I think
  8. ...and i just realized i ran out of shelfspace
  9. here you can see how big the cat really is, compared to the hornet hope you like it, i know the pics are real bad, but i dont have good lighting to work with and have no modelling time to speak of during daylight hours
  10. and with the tomcat from the same timeframe (april 2003, mediterranean, harry s. truman)
  11. after breaking off the outer wings about seven times during final assembly i mounted them for the last time if you ever do a hornet with folded wings put these on dead last
  12. since i broke off and lost one of the airspeed indicators (at least i think they are) and after spending half an hour on the floor trying to find it, i scratched one out of thin plastic, a bit of stretched plastic pipe and wire
  13. this now is the end result with strips of siver painted tape to mirror the hoseclamps that hold on the real thing paint and decals added, still not really happy, but i´m going to stop now or this bird never gets finished maybe some aftermarket bomb if one ever gets availible
  14. not being happy with the first version of my GBU-38 i vacformed a new version of the front guidance parts, now consisting of two parts like the original
