  1. Canopy, thick as Johnie Walker Bottle, and unusable for Royal Yugoslav AF E3A version I use this canopy parts for termoforming tool for new canopy. Filled with automotive putty, and sanded to shape of 109E3a canopy, Hot forming using clear acetate film, Finished, two made, for both Emils.
  2. Double trouble build of two Matchbox EMIL's, one obtained as a swap from LSP member Padraic Conway (Thanx), second one bought at EBAY , sadly , incomplete, lacking of horisontal tail rudders, UC/Legs, some cockpit details and decals. So, i simple made provisional resin casting tools and copy missing parts from complete Emil. Work started almost two years ago, but i save all the in build photos, and here is the complete story, Box art, Kit parts, Cocpit started, First RLM 02 coat DB 601, just partialy assembled, i did not install it in the fuselage, Instro panel, instrument dials printed on clear foil will be added later, Gun barrel, syringe needle 0,8mm ,
  3. Better late than never, More than year took my Revell group build project. So, here is it, finished MIG 21 BIS in Serbia AF colours. Decals used, LIFT HERE, http://lifthere.atspace.com/304-LH.htm Hope my next MIG , Trumpeter Mig 21 F13 , exposed at local cafe" NS Time Cafe" No 504 with JAWS will be better subject and built faster than this REVELL dinosaur.
  4. Good question. I use scientific approach called T.L.A.R. Which means: "That Looks About Right" Usually, just a drop of white add in final coat of clear dope, overspraying more on model undersurfaces, less on vertical tail and fuselage sides and even less on wing/tail topsides. This gives satisfying shades on the finished model. Never managed to exactly mix 10/20/30% of white in model paints, using scale effect formulas.
  5. Stephen and friends, Thanx for nice comments, i have no problem with swastika,if used on model, but this Bucker is built to be later sent to Germany, where the Swastika is banned and i do not want to gamble with German postal and customs service, will this kit pass the checkout or be returned to me. So, for now, Bucker wil stay with quadrat, later could be replaced with Hakenkreutz.
  6. Hi, Planet models decal sheet gives this detail just in four lines with additional small black cross, but does not fit OK, so i decide to stay with this incomplete version rather than making unreal swastika shape. Also, have no correct sized swastika in spare decal box.
  7. And here is the set of build model photos,
  8. Canopy glued, masked and sprayed with Interrior Green first, Masking film removed, Foliage Green overall ( excluding white tail) sprayed, There are no decals in box, just airbrushing masks, so, i masked and sprayed insignias, serials and code letters, And this is the end of build story, Boomerang photos to follow,
  9. Finished BU 131 Jungmann Planet Models photos,
  10. More work on Bucker, preparing the top wing instalation , Steel wire (0,8mm) reinforced wing struts, Top wing superglued, aligned using the plans downloaded from internet, 0,3mm steel wire rigging superglued, UC legs reinforced with 1mm steel wire, And paint job, Next post, finished model photos,
  11. And here is the finished model, great kit, really enjoyed this build.
  12. I do some work and photos, but have no time to post it, so, here are finishing work photos , EDSG topsides Sky undersides Masking film removed, White wing stripes base, Masked and black coat of paint airbrushed, Good prop jig for aligning prop blades angle and pitch, Prop painted, UC Legs sprayed, Light coat of Pronto (FUTURE) prior the decaling, More to follow,
  13. Great news and wish you luck with your new project. Will eagerly wait for photo story. Always learn some new modeling techniques from your work.
  14. Just a short update, engine is painted ,ready to assembly,
  15. Just a short update, Some work on armament set, Placed in the wing ,need some drybrushing , later Flaps glued, exact angle controlled by cardboard template, And rudders glued in place,
  16. Todays progress, Cockpit tub glued within fuselage, seat belts added, Ultra precise and detailed undercarriage bay, Good wing-fuselage fit, just a few layers of superglue will be need to fill this gap, Even better fuselage-tailplane joint area, no need for any "putty" action, Bristol Centaurus 18 engine , Spinner, prop blades and prop alignment jig tool, will help to properly glue each of fiwe blades, Airframe assembled, top view, underside view, More will follow,
  17. Thx, Medal should go to superglue inventors, they give us great material for fast work with resin parts. I do not modeling more than 1-2hrs per day and little more during the weekend. So, i still beleive i'm slow ,mostly due the constant lack of time, but with few hundreds kits built in past 30+ yrs, will be a shame that i not learn some shortcuts and fast build modeling techniques.
  18. Well, actualy i have small workbench and modeling space, but all is in the time and space organising. I usualy have no time to build kits one by one, have lot of work with my resin kits casting and tooling and using same space for modeling too. So, when build kits i build 3-5 kits at once, and when finish, have break of 2-3 months and do resin kit casting. And again start 3-5 kits and modeling goes arround again. Go back to modeling, started with cockpit details of this great kit, Cockpit and PE parts, Instrument dial film, two supplied, gloss white back of the film painted, Cockpit tub semi gloss black painted, And completed, lightly drybrushed,
  19. Engine painted and drybrushed, Fuselage /engine/cockpit frame dry fit test, Fuselage halves glued, good fit except small part in front of the windshield, which requires some putty, UC bay photo etch details , More later,
  20. Todays Bucker update, sanded all the putty, primed with matt gray paint and sanded again, ready for airbrushing,
  21. Thanx Alan, For resin kits i use regular automotive 2 component poliesther putty, and this time it hardens quickly and i do not have enough time to do fine layer of putty, working on four separate areas on this kit. Anyway, will give it sandpaper treatment and will be OK.
  22. Bucker cockpit, Pilot seats, parachutes and seat belts, ( out of focus, sorry) Three locations where some putty was need,
  23. Dashboard, drybrushed Glued in the cockpit frame, P&W-1 P&W-2 P&W-3, photo etch wiring, thick Cylinder Valve actuating bars replaced with streched sprues Prior the airbrushing, compared with real engine wiring photo
  24. Another resin kit, built in series with BU-133 and CA 13 Boomerang, starting with big white cardboard box contents overview, More tomorrow,
  25. All the parts cleaned, polished and washed prior the assembly started, Pilots seats, casted with parachute and harness, nice, better than Photo Etched ones, Nice, fine and possibly breakable undercariage parts, Wing struts, same story, nice but little flimsy, Wings, Fuselage and tailplane parts, Acetate cockpit windshields, Decals, with correction set ( outlined 102). Cockpit parts assembled, and painted, RLM 02, More photos tomorrow,
