Mr Surfacer help

OR !!

Try the Mr Hobby range of rattle can primers and finishers, the Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500 grey is my right hand for preparing models for casting, it's really good on 3D stuff.

Just mist it on and let it dry don't worry if you think it looks oversprayed just leave it and it shrinks onto the surface and fills any imperfection.

I just remembered I had this in stock.

mig-2047-mastic-liquide-fin-putty-surfac

mig-2048-mastic-liquide-moyen-putty-surf

I guess it's the equivalent of the Mr Surfacer 500/1200?
I put some "thin" in the various junctions of the engine cowl of my FW 190 which needed it!

May I ask why you're priming?

~. If you're priming to get a one color surface because your build includes a lot of different color aftermarket resin/3D prints, or to check seams etc, then just use any regular color lacquer.

~. If you plan to wet sand the primer before the top coat then use a lacquer designated specifically as a sandable primer.

Otherwise just skip it.

That's why I'm asking all these questions.
I imagine that building a multi-material plastic/resin/PE model requires a coat of primer paint to have a homogeneous paint base.
Is this the case for a "classic" plastic model that hasn't required a lot of putty?
Not sure.
In any case, I have a black primer from MRP that does the job.
