  1. Hi Cees "it's too small" Funny as I only usually hear that from women! Cheers Phil
  2. Hi For what its worth here's how I paint interiors. I use humbrol enamels but since they changed I find that they only dry matt when sprayed. Next comes the Tamiya smoke well thinned with tamiya thinner and a dab of flat base. Never got on with future/klear as yet. It can dry glossy otherwise in little nooks and crannies. This darkens and gives an irregular stain. The effect is worked by wicking off the excess with a paint brush. Let it dry. Next heavy drybrushing or close to wet brushing, if I have overdone the smoke gives the next layer of colour. Once dry a highlight colour is drybrushed. Next wear on walkways is simulated by spaying smoke to just build up a wear path. lastly drybrushed aluminium with a large proportion of brown. Bellow are pics which I hope explain. Nice to see some progress Cees we just keep going. One day One day. Trying to motivate myself to do the canopy etc but its the bit I hate most. I theory its so simple but can't get it right. Oh well. Cheers Phil
  3. Hi Cheers all Keith- Its a scratchbuild full story in pics and reference here http://photobucket.com/albums/y149/HalibagPhil/ Lancman- Doh! There are so many boxes , panels etc that I should have made moulds from, but hey that would make it too easy next time. Nearly bought a tamiya mosquito just for the radios but took a look and came to my senses. Clear fuselage half not for me. Took me months to grind out these ones. Still can't believe I did it like that though. Bobba- 3 years in markings are a few years off yet at current progress rates, but had looked at Fedinand II Cheers Phil
  4. Hi Been making radios lately. Derek. Whitley drawings. The ones in the Warpaint book are by Ian Huntley and look pretty good from a scratchbuild view ie loads of sections and wing incidence. Not sure about the MAP ones though. I would go for a lovely tired old coastal command bird. I am affraid the Nuns only administer laxatives nowadays after the whole nude rollerblading scandal last december. Erwin W'ont start ranting about the FM Hali again. There really isn't anything I can think of that wouldn't be better scratchbuilt. Sure there will be some nice ones appearing though over time. EPinniger Know what you mean with the wiring. I am nowere near as good as some of the wiring on the black box, aries etc. How do they do it? Using the contrail or Sanger? is effectivly scatch building it. Garfield Ingrams vac Halifaxwas an inspiration and shows what can be done with it. Pics follow Cheers Phil
  5. Hi no its a 1/48 but it will still be big. Yeah I know its a 1/32 and above site but you tend to get more scratchbuilding here. Next project will more than likely be 32nd, Stirling?, Whitley. Ummmm now they will be big. Cheers Phil
  6. Thanks all, as Neil is sending me some of his lovely resin engines it begs the question of how much stuff you can use from kits before it isn't really scratchbuilt. I was also going to use a detailed upper turret from a classic airframes defiant but at the moment I have used only 6 parts from detail sets. They are all in the previous shot. Can you find them? I will edit and repost the pic showing them in a couple of days. All photos of previous work and Halifax reference here http://photobucket.com/albums/y149/HalibagPhil/ Cheers Phil
