  4. Hi guys after a bit of a hiatus I am looking to build an Aussie Mirage iii e Probably will do the beastie in all metal finish so that would be early 60s.... I have been looking at getting some after market stuff cockpit, rear of engine dress up ? maybe some wheel bay detail sets but it all seems to be listed for the old Revell kit. Is there anything out there for the itakeri kit if not has anyone used the aftermarket stuff in the Italeri kit with success

  19. Hi Guys I was just wondering if some one can point me in the direction of some good line drawings for the Aussie Mirage III. Also if anyone can point me in the direction of cockpit photos showing the two types of instrument panel etc that would be appreciated.... Lastly any good aftermarket out there for the Italeri kit
  20. Ok if they carried no kill markings there would surely be a record or a tally against certain aircraft numbers in unit diaries that show which individual plane had the most kills scored whilst being flown ...........is this correct ie similar to bombers being recorded as flying 200 bomber missions in a given tour etc as an example
  21. Have just got this one in my stash as well look forward to the build mate
  22. Jennings awesome read thank you indeed and D thank you for the information it seems from what I have read (a damn lot in the last 2 days) as well that this was the case in all marine units pilots flew what plane they were assigned on the day..... so to change tack I think I might look at planes of VMF- 214 and see which one had the most victories recorded against it
  23. Ah boys thank you indeed for the information..... this has now changed my attack plan I have seen Cutting edge do some decals for Boyingtons aircraft plus Tamiya has given decals for 883....... I am guessing form what you have told me this would be a pool aircraft as well....... but flown by Boyington was he ever assigned an aircraft like Keppler was
  24. Hi guys I have the new f4u-1 a from Tamiya I plan on adding the Grey Matter detail set plus getting the Eduard photoetch for it when it is released....... I want to do Pappy Boyingtons white 86 f4u "Lucybelle" I am not certain as to what tyres were on the plane were they smooth or diamond treaded..... I have looked for pictures but have not had any luck TIA
