1/32 Bf 109E-4/B, Eduard, DIO - Synchronization gear The building was divided to 2 parts: - the construction of the aircraft + air-accessories + desk - built by Miroslav Jezek, - diorama details and figures - built by Pavel Zabak. This is a model aircraft from the EDUARD kit, number 3003, 1/32 scale, but M camouflage from the Adlerangriff kit, number 11107 - WNr. 3726, Fw. Erhardt Pankratz, 6.(S)/LG 2, Calais-Marck, France , September 1940. Information from Instruction Sheet: The Bf 109 E-4 WNr. 3726 was lost on October 5th, 1940 with Fw. Erhardt Pankratz at the controls. He was flying near English coast at a height 12,000 feet when he was attacked by No. 603 Sq. Spitfires. Both of his petrol tanks were hit, he tried to return to France, but his engine seized. He performed successful forced landing near Peasmarsh, Sussex. Asteel helmet was found during examination of the Bf 109. This airplane was shown to British public later on. Staffel emblem of the 6.(S)/LG 2 with Puss in Boots (Gestiefelter Kater) with lantern was used from 1938 till 1942. The black triangle is marking of ground attack aircraft, the "M" is individual marking of aircraft within Staffel and yellow color is attributed to 6. Staffel. Commander of the 6.(S)/LG 2 was Oblt. Werner Dörnbrack. He flew as ground attack pilot in active duty from 1938 till end of war. In 1,118 missions with Hs 123, Bf 109 and Fw 190 he shot down 29 aircraft and destroyed number of ground targets. He was final position was Kommodore of chlachtgeschwader 4 awarded with Knight Cross with Oak Leaves. After capture by US forces he was handed over to Red Army but escaped after two days. Adjusting weapons on the 109E is a relatively familiar thing. The plane is leveled on the goats and the sights are adjusted and fired at a distant target - there are a lot of pictures, here are a few: But, there is one special operation and that is adjusting the gear of the synchronization of the propeller and the body weapons so that the pilot does not shoot the propeller when firing (in simple terms) - which would probably be quite a problem. I emphasize BUILD = it didn't have a time limit, but it couldn't end up unfinished in the closet like the classic "Foundation" - I wanted to finish it! The financial limit for construction was essentially unlimited and there was a requirement to use the best that could be found. Examples: the seat belts are in the kit etch, the resin cockpit etch, another one in the Look kit, but the best ones were from HGW - that's why these were used. In the same way, for example, the instrument panel - the one from the Look set looked the most model-like (compared to the resin or colored etched ones), or the hull weapons - although they are also nice in resin, I bought metal... Nothing was "bananas" during construction (classic: that it as it won't be visible anyway), all the kit errors that are known (and were previously described) were patched when I made my own stupid mistake, so I fixed it as well.
