  1. In this update, my attention has been turned to the build of the engines and the wing... The many parts for the engines are ready fo assembly Cylinders assembled and painted. I'm planning to open up the panels of the port engine to display the details...
  2. I have thought about that, but I'm not very good with electric's I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction ;-) Kent
  3. Thanks, some close up photos of the different compartments... Cockpit Radio & bunks Rear... Auxiliary power unit & bunks Navigator
  4. And 'dryfitting' of the fuselage...
  5. Interior is finally done... yeah! Right side of fuselage... Left side of fuselage... Exterior of the cutaway fuselage...
  6. Thank you all, I appreciate your encouraging comments a lot! Now I can finally begin to see light at the end of the tunnel... The Catalina is my all time favorite aircraft and HPH has done a great job. But there's no way I'm able to take any shortcuts with this build. It will also get a special place in my collection, once it's finished. BTW I found a photo of the missing radio operator... P.S. I'm not doing the typewriter! Cheers, Kent
  7. Thanks guys, i finally started putting all the parts into the interior, beginning with the Radio Station... Some wiring and some extra small parts... Also some wiring and parts added to the cockpit wall... The cockpit bulkhead in place...
  8. Thanks Mark, I have tried buying different interior green's but they always seem to be either too green, too dark and can I say too much? Somehow I always end up using my own 'blend' for the paints. The interior green is a base layer of some kind of olive drab primer color. Then I have mixed two shades of interior green, one dark and one lighter, by toning the olive drab with some yellow/green/light grey/white until I got the shades I like. This means the interior is painted at least three times with the different shades to get some tonal variation. Finally I've used Mig Ammo Interiors Wash to add some extra darkness to the shadows. Kent
  9. Thanks fellas! Getting closer and closer to installing the partial builds into the fuselage. Really looking forward to this ;-)
  10. Another update with the parts for the Cockpit, Navigator & Radio stations... Navigator's desk with some added maps of Greenland etc... Radio operator's desk and equipment with some added wirering... Cockpit parts, instrument panel with wires on the back, controls and pilot seats... Most of cockpit assembled... The instrument panel withs some 'freestyled' wirering... Extra details are added to the rudder pedals...
  11. Thank you! I think your right and it will become quite clear, at least when I close up the fuselage at some point...
  12. In case anyone is wondering what I'm doing? Still 'trapped' in the interior, but slowly the bulkheads are getting there, with some additional detailing...
  13. I've thought about it, but I don't think so. So, I've decided to work my way from the rear step by step to end up doing the cockpit ;-) This is the rear compartment. Here some Float Lights for the flare chutes were added... Kent
  14. Thanks Thomas, your absolutely right, since this is my first resin kit, I was intimidated by the sheer number of interior stringers, profiles and spars that had to be placed one at a time... and with super glue. It was a massive undertaking, all I can say is: I'm happy I don't have to do more of that! Now it's almost ordinary modelling, except for spending a lot of time figuring out what and 'where' the next parts are... Cheers: Kent
  15. Thanks Mark, yes the straps are kit parts, I still need to figure out how many I want to add to the bunks, the kit has 16 straps... Kent
  16. Sorry Chris I got carried away and simply forgot to document the steps :-( I just used some folded up pieces of paper tissue and soaked them with a paintbrush using diluted white glue... The result when placed in the bunk compartment...
  17. Thanks Bryan, googled magazines 1943 they are printed on my inkjet printer, I'm also surprised of the details... Regards: Kent
  18. Working on the bunks... I decided to paint the HPH/HGW bunks in another tone than the green, I'm afraid everything will just become a 'green in green' interior... And when I was at it decided to do some bed linen from paper tissue and white glue. Some old magazines LIFE etc... was printed to add a little life to the bunks. And finally a copy of Osprey Combat Aircraft 65 arrived... In this book the PBY operations in Greenland during WWII is described by Icelandic Author Ragnar J Ragnarsson.
  19. A little update: It's a tedious work, cleaning, assembling and painting all the small resin parts for the interior details... And I haven't even started on the parts for the cockpit and the radio room.
  20. Results from this years AROS Modelling contest... First place in Masterclass, Participants favorite model, C4-Open (Sweden) Special award.
  21. Hmm, that would be here in Denmark. Maybe at some point i will take it to a contest in Europe somewhere...
  22. Just a little photo of the original S-15 in danish colors in the late 1930's...
  23. Thanks for your kind words Guy. The tool I use for this kind of work is called a Pounce Wheel, it's made by Excel and they come in different sizes. I think they are available in most online Hobby Shops and on 'Evil' bay... ;-) Kent
  24. The rigging was done a while ago, but I still need some details here and there. But this is as far as this build is at the moment...
