  1. The new throttle quadrant, temporarily in its place
  2. Thanks, Man, appreciate it! Another tiny part, this is the emergency canopy release:
  3. A new undercarriage control lever had to be fabricated
  4. Even better! PLEASE re-release the whole resin kit, it is very rare and as a result really expensive! We are in 2015. It is such a pity that the best kit of the P-51B/C widely available was first released in 1969 and it has its fair share of flaws. Your Razorback is perfect, but alas! beyond the reach of so many...
  5. @JRutman Your cockpit set would make a lot of people happy were it available. It is worth re-releasing! @LSP_Ron Sadly the multiple Eduard sets would only bring some visual improvements, but they do contain a lot of inaccuracies
  6. Sir, can you at least consider releasing a cockpit correction set? Because the Aires one is of poor quality, with important items like the hand pump and throttle quadrant missing completely while parts like floor, turnover truss and landing gear control are badly rendered. There are many modelers that would be delighted to buy an accurate cockpit set for their Trumpeter kits.
  7. Map case was too fat... Its thickness was corrected and the flight report holder was temporarily added: Stay tuned for Correcting the Correction Set part 2!
  8. Wasn't satisfied with the kapok filled cushion that would look better on a P-51D. This is the new one, made from Milliput. Does anybody know if it was fabric covered or maybe leather was used? What was its actual color?
  9. Thank you, much appreciated! Don't think there's gonna be another Mustang, so better get this one right.
  10. Thank you for the kind words! Only when I took the pictures above I realized that this is shaping up into a decent Mustang.
  11. Perfect fit, everything falls into place flawlessly
  12. And this would be the turnover truss
  13. So glad you like what was achieved so far, can't wait to see her done, in its natural metal/silver dope/olive drab glory!
  14. The hydraulic hand pump situated to the right of the pilot's seat was put together in a Frankenstein-like manner, 4 different parts taken from the spares box were sculpted, sanded and combined with some stretched sprue.
  15. Some stretched sprue wrapped in sewing thread replicates the cockpit section of the hose that connected the regulator unit to the oxygen cylinders in the rear fuselage
  16. The kit wheels are historically accurate slick tires and are not that bad. Resin has much better hubs though. Liking what I see, keep it up!
  17. The armored glass behind the windshield was cut from an old Compact Disk case, with the frame made from thick aluminum foil.
  18. A really minor update, a styrene right triangle with one side measuring 2.1 cm and the other 0.5 millimeters, was added on each side of the cockpit. Might not look like much, but this is important, without it the guide rails for the "Malcolm" hood would be at a wrong angle.
  19. Truth. The Rutman resin P-51B kit is unquestionably the best in 1:32nd with the Revell second. A mainstream injection razorback will hopefully be released soon, it is badly needed. because it is really sad that with regard to shape the most accurate plastic kit of this beautiful bird in large scale was first released in 1969 and it does need some work. It is also sad that the one released in 2007 (Trumpeter) is a missed opportunity, having shape issues even worse than the old one...
  20. The rough shapes of the fuselage ribs visible through the rear glazed panels were cut, they do require some refinement.
  21. RESPECT! Keep doing what you do, it looks really good!
  22. You are right, the harnesses were made from lead foil as a backup in case I messed up the HGW ones and this is a home made resin copy.
  23. Soon will start engraving the fuselage and it needs to be closed up. This is a test shot of the new cockpit floor (the Aires one that was supposed to be used is bent like a banana)
  24. Like I said, a decent P-51 B/C in large scale is badly needed, so there is no double edged sword here. One of the lower landing flap halves has received its rivet pattern, its counterpart will be ready later today:
