  1. The model now has the oil airintake... and yesterday I build an BB I, from the kit of papermodelers.com, almost 1/32, this model was modified, with an "metal" prop, just because the real thing flew with one, the wood model was used for display in museum. Cheers. Al
  2. Ssculptor, thanks for your kind words, I glad you like it, the model was built with cardstock, the fuselage and wings. The balsa wood where used in cockpit and turtle deck, cowling cilinders fairings and main wheels but this model is easy to build in all wood, just because the BB II has not tricky curves...all is straight and in angle. Cheers. Al
  3. hi guys, new pics, now the cockpit is painted, a second hand of yellow, ans some hinge lines and the numbers in tail, only few details next as the oil cooling intake and some black lines in prop. cheers. Al
  4. Miami and Peter, tanks for the words, more pics.
  5. With an sepcial dedication to Peter here some new pics. The plane now has landing gear, the tail wheel maybe is some large, maybe the leg will be short, and the main wheels are from balsa wood. The prop hub is from plastic, and the blades from cardstock, painted in metal and the plane in yellow, only the cockpit needs some color and the numbers in tail. Cheers. Al
  6. Peter, thanks a lot for the advices!!!!!! about the color, I thought it was a less bright yellow and matt, but with your words, definetely maybe I going for the right way. I going to study the cub´s pict to see the tail wheel shape. The motor cooling holes will be simulated by black paint...mhhh!!! maybe not nice bou keep the estructural strenght in a card model. Definetely...go for your model Cheers. Al
  7. Peter, thanks for the words, and fo the inspiration and you are right, continue with your model Cheers. Al
  8. Thanks Eric, you are right, to be the test pilot could bee a dificult work, but the fact is that the builder /pilot is the only pilot that flew small airplanes since 1949!!! he was the test pilot of Stits Junior, Sky Baby, BB 1 and BB 2, and when he flew the BB 2 was 64 years old!!! sadly the plane crashed for an engine failure, but Starr survived. Cheers. Al
  9. Will, thanks a lot for the welcome, and is nice to see your thread, a lot of tips and a great work with this Salamander. Cheers Al
  10. Hi guys, some days ago, while a search in the web, I found this forum, just becasue here are a picture of Starr plane. That thread inspired to me to build my own model. The plane is from my own 3 views, and is build from cardstock and balsa wood, today I build all the general frame, latter the landing gear, prop and paint. Cheers. Al

  14. Kevin, thanks for the welcome, OK I will to see the forum to lear how it works and to post and lear from you guys. The BB II definetely is a neat subjet to build, easy and not common airplane as all the micro real planes that flew before de BB II. Thanks again, and lets see the forum. Cheers. Al
  15. Hello guys, I am new here, and as some modelers likes dtrange planes, and the BB is one of them, as we know, there are no plans of the Bumble Bee II in the web, so some guys got some info from the Starr´s daughter in Arizona, so I thought to make some lines and this is the result, wath do you think? Cheers. Al
