  1. Also, the Fw 190 Blueprints Set is updated: http://stores.ebay.com/FLUG-ARCHIV-20__W0Q...p;submit=Search
  2. New releases cover the Tiger Moth, Antique Steam Engine, Bristol Fighter WWI.
  3. More suited to scratch builders and aircraft restoration but a good collection of documents if you like to refer to the real thing albeit in digitised form. The scans and .pdfs are expertly done and the production values are professional (as many customers have already testified in their feedback). Blueprint sets are also available for the P-51, Spitfire, Corsair, Bf 109, Me 262 and the Fw 190. http://stores.ebay.com/FLUG-ARCHIV-20_Avia...634Q2ec0Q2em309
  4. A major new version of our Bf 109 Blueprint set with thanks in part to Flugwerk GmbH: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/FLUG-ARCHIV-20...634Q2ec0Q2em309 http://www.flugwerk.de/
  5. The exhausts on the Trumpeter kit are ridiculous although most other aspects of the kit were well designed. But I did not at all enjoy the oversimplified engine on the Trumpeter kit. The overall impression for me was - "Why bother." On the other hand, the enigne mount is impressive. I think in future I'll buy both the Airfix and the Trumpeter kit again and see what I can do to incorporate the best features of each.
  6. Agreed, the rugby was shameful. Still there's another match tonight. There's still hope that our NZ coach can beat your NZ coach.
  7. We've actually got 3 sons - all in roughly the same age bracket so the only democratic thing to do was build 3 models all at the same time :-( I really had to stuggle. Trumpeter's engine mount is a thing of beauty and Airfix's Engine the same. It was just so tempting to bash the 2 kits together to make one Mustang the way it should be. But I stayed the course and built both kits OOB. Airfix's engine mounts are non-existant and Trumpeter's Merlin is wubbish. Anyway, here is progress to date:
  8. Much finishing work still to do. Started building this with my son (aged 9) 4-5 weeks ago. It is cmpletely OOB, but have corrected decal mistakes like changing EVER REUY N to EVER READY II and painting the Pilot's signiture on the cowl as per the original aircraft. I think I got it right. We still have all of the smaller decals to apply. The kit had been sitting around for a while and the decals dried up so that when it came time to put them on the model, they fractured into 10 pieces each on average. Much time spent lining them up and then in the end doing a lot of overpainting by hand. Apparently the call sign and the rear fuselage band shown as white was in fact painted in RAF Sky 1 but we don't know what colour that actually is yet. EVER READY II was painted white not yellow as produced in the kit decals. I am probably going to paint the yellow out with white but am waiting for the day I feel at peace enough to have a steady hand for the job. We had an accident with the kit windscreen and it is completely ruined now. If there is any member who put the inaccurate kit windscreen aside and replaced it with an after market one please let us know 1) where to locate an after market windscreen or 2) if you want to sell the kit windscreen part to us. The model is completely hand painted using a kind of dry brush technique even for the camouflage.
  9. I think the documentary evidence is clear that JG 54 used brown and green and painted their aircraft with whatever was around and definitely mixed it themselves hence one aircraft appearing in a different shade of brown to another. There is actually a lot of color photography around so there needn't be much speculation (in my opinion). Glad the images might be of some use though.
  10. And this one is worth looking at too. Note the use of browns. Some commentators have speculated that JG 54 was using captured Russian paint stock. The sun is shining but it has rained a few hours ago so I'm guessing that is the reason why the paint has some sheen to it. By the end of the day (assuming no more rain) this plane will be covered with dust except at the wing roots and cockpit sides. http://stores.ebay.com/Flug-archiv-20
  11. Will this colour photo help? It is the real thing: http://stores.ebay.com/Flug-archiv-20
