Aerobat
I'm a little dazed and confused about the early Grumman Jet cockpit colors. I am planing Blue Angels markings for the Fisher kit and am going to do the cockpit interior green with black for the side consoles and above. I have been searching for photos for a good confirmation look at the rear bulkhead behind the seat with out any luck. Does anyone know if it's black or a combination of lower int. green and upper black (or something else?). This would also be of help for the Bearcat. Gary BTW It may have been mentioned before, but my search ran me across this website with all sorts of cockpit photos US cockpits
D Bellis
This and the shot in the next post are screen shots of the F9F-5 used in the film Brigdes at Toko-Ri. I'm not sure if the colors are representative of in-service machines, but this is what I used on my 1/48 Panther build. One more in a few seconds... D Bellis
While the sidewalls were black from the console tops up, the rear wall and bang seat appear to be interior green. The deck under the rear of the canopy was black with a red fire bottle. HTH, D
D Bellis
What the heck. One more that better shows the deck under the canopy: D
D Bellis
And, another without the canopy in place: D
