This is 1/32 Trumpeter Thunderbolt with the markings of P-47D5 (42-8487) flown by Cpt Walker M. Mahurin 63rd FS, 56th FG Halesworth in March 1944. I have used Eduard PE cockpit set and Hasegawa's P-47 rudder pedals ( Trumpeter's rudder pedal are not suitable for the razorback version) I have used Quickboost's engine set with Trumpeter's magnetos Cowling flaps part backdated to D5 I have used Eduard Brassin wheel set. Paints are Gunze acrylics Decals: National insignias are from Barracuda decal set. Customized fuselage code letters were produced by customhobbydecal from Australia. Hi to everyone, As a matter of fact, I've wanted to build this P-47 years ago, when I first saw this photo. So my decision to start this project today was not difficult. As you can see in the first picture, this is P-47D5 (42-8487) flown by Cpt Walker M. Mahurin 63rd FS, 56th FG Halesworth in March 1944. Well, I started with cockpit as usual. I used Eduard PE cockpit set. Trumpeter s rudder pedal are not suitable for the razorback version. I replaced this part with a Hasegawa part that I did not use in my previous projects To be continued.....

This is my 1/32 Hasegawa P-47D-28 RA with the markings of Frank E. Oiler’s “Eileen 42-28878” from 78FG/84FS based İn Duxford (1944). Cockpit modifications are: -Aires cockpit set -Yahu instrument panel -Eduard seat selts I have used the front part of the Quickboost engine set with the correct magnetos from Trumpeter. Lead wires were also added. Other replaced parts are EaglePart wheels and Quickboost guns Paints are Gunze Sangyo acrylics Nose checkers have been painted by masking Decals are from Cutting Edge CED32086. Happy modelling

This is 1/32 Hasegawa P-47D28 Thunderbolt with the markings of “Frigid Midgit“ 42-28677 from 394th FS 367th FG 9th AF based at St. Dizier France in March of 1945. Cockpit modified with Aires cockpit set, Yahu instrument panel and Eduard seatbelts. I have used Barracudacast main wheels and Quickboost gun barrels. Engine front section is from Quickboost with Trumpeter’s magnetos. Paints are Gunze Sangyo acrylics and Alclad metalizers. Decals have been produced by “CustomHobbyDecals” except for national insignias. Happy Modelling

One more tick to my bucketlist. This is 1/32 Trumpeter P-47D-1 with the markings of “In the Mood” flown by Captain Gerald W Johnson from 61st Fighter Squadron 56th Fighter Group based in Halesworth England during late 1943. Cockpit modified by Yahu instrument panel and Eduard seatbelts. Additionnaly Trumpeter’s late style rudder pedals replaced with MDC early ones which are from spare parts box. For backdating to D-1, the cowling flaps changed by using plastic card. I have used Eduard’s Wheel set. Belly tank is from my Tamiya spare parts. Paints are Gunze Sangyo and Tamiya acrylics. Decals are from Zotz Decal set. Happy modelling

Hi again, Here is my recently finished 1/32 Trumpeter P-47D 22 with the markings of “Belle of Belmont” from 63rd FS / 56th FG in Boxted. Note that this Thunderbolt has Curtiss Electric propeller though it is D22. Cockpit enhanced with Yahu instrument panel and Eduard seatbelt I have used Barracudacast main wheels and Eduard tail Wheel. Paints are Gunze Sangyo acrylics Decals are from “Kagero P-47 Thunderbolt with the USAAF- European Theatre of Operations” book. Happy Modelling

Yet another tick to my 1/32 P-47 to do list. This is 1/32 Hasegawa P-47D25 with the markings of “The Virgin 42-26643” from 510 FS 405 FG. Note that this D25 has Curtiss Electric symmetrical propeller. Cockpit was modified by using Aires cockpit set and Yahu instrument panel. Corrugated cockpit floor borrowed from MDC set. And Eduard seat belts added. I kept Hasegawa’s engine cylinders parts. But I replaced front engine area with Quickboost resin part and the magnetos from Trumpeter spare parts. I have used Quickboost gun barrels and Barracudacast wheels. Painting was done with Gunze Sangyo acrylics.
