Further about masks, I have the Paragon Vac canopy for the 1/32 Mosquito. Does anyone make a set for that?
I'm essentially certain that the answer is "no."
If not, What is the best way to mask a vac canopy? Liquid,Kabuki tape, blue painter's tape, or?Tamiya tape, in my opinion. Is that essentially the same as "Kabuki tape"?

No one here has mentioned the fact that some Spitfire seat bottoms had a six-sided recess for a "fanny pack" parachute:

... whereas others didn't:

What rules/guidelines/trends apply to that distinction with regard to seat material and/or Spitfire Mark? Did all plastic seats and no metal seats include the six-sided recess? I used to think that the matter was that simple, but I'm no longer so sure. And which Marks' seats had (or tended to have) the six-sided recess. And did any real Spitfire seats have completely flat bottoms, as represented by some kit and aftermarket parts?

Squadron carries a lot of their stuff here in the states Dave. Stock varies.
Squadron appears to have only Just Plane Stuff's 1/32 USN WW II Carrier Deck and their 1/32 Japanese Carrier Flight Deck in stock right now. Both are excellent products, by the way.

I'm virtually certain that that's a different company.

Hey Jerry, Did you ever make a P-51D tire with that tread pattern?
Brad,
I read the following, which Jerry had posted earlier, as a "No":
I never made circumfrential tread tires for the P-51 but I did for the P-38. I think Barracuda will get around to it.Charles Metz

Excellent review. Too bad it's riddled with so many typos.

Hey if Tamiya can make the jump from a Spitfire IX to XIV then going from a P-51D to a B doesn't seem that far.
Tamiya's jump was even bigger than that numerically but much smaller in every other way (unfortunately).

Just seen them on IPMS Philippines site - apologies for not providing the link.
Here's a direct link to the Skyraider test shots and, for completeness, the direct link to the Black Widow test shots that TimC posted earlier above.

Here are the instructions for Dragon's "Early Production" P-51D kit (the one with no fin fillet) on the Hobby Search website. It's a good idea to bookmark that website, in my opinion.

Thanks, gents. Think I'll pack it in, not worth the red tape.
Did you receive my Personal Message?

Perhaps you can obtain some helpful information from the Koolhoven Aeroplanes Foundation or the 1/48 Planet Models kit.

Looks pretty.
--snip--
Steve,
I'd be grateful for any comments concerning:
-- the shape and size of the kit's radiator fairing and cowl flaps -- particularly their lengths (chords);
-- whether the hard-to-describe asymmetric depression in the forward upper part of the nose is represented correctly; and
-- whether the upper sides and upper edge of the radiator opening accurately represent the B-1 or B-2:

Is this the kit with the nice completely clear aft cockpit glazing?
You're probably thinking of the P-40N:

Unfortunately, Hasegawa released only a very small number of those kits as a "Limited Edition," and they're now nearly impossible to find.

Still works for me:
That's the Zoukei-mura kit, whereas I thought (and still think) that Shawn's question concerned the Revell kit, for which Andreas88 had posted a link on May 19th.

since I do not speaker German, can some one direct me to the pics we're discussing?
Apparently the web page with the Revell '219 test-shot photos discussed here has disappeared.

Do you have something showing the suide consolles as well?
Only the schematic in the second image that I posted.

Lou,
The second and third images below are probably those that Jerry was thinking of. I'm including the third, which shows the Ta 152 H cockpit, so you can compare it to the first two images.
Ta 152 C:
Ta 152 C:
Ta 152 H:
I'm posting these scans under the standard "Fair Use"conditions, which I trust everyone here will respect.

a Revell kit with some photoetched sets, a Paragon conversion and Ventura decals may result in the same replica for more or less half this sum.
Because Stephen hasn't chimed in, I'll point out that rocks, sticks and wrapping paper provide another avenue to Spitfire-Prototype bliss.

I also saw that thread you had mentioned but haven't been able to find the apple barrel paints anywhere.
Maybe this list will help.

Google hasn't heard of "Wood Aehrolak." Do you meant the VVS color often called "Wood Aerolak"? If so, this list and especially the last post on this thread may help.

Further...the cockpit would do with a little more detail, but since I don't have my ZM kit handy to use as quick reference and only have pictures and drawings showing the Ta152 H cockpit
Zoukei-Mura only makes a Ta 152 H kit, so that wouldn't help you much if any more than your pictures and drawings. I'll have a look through my references this evening or tomorrow.
From what I remember the fuselage/ cockpit was the same, only the wings were different. Others may know more though.Another obvious difference is that the Ta 152 C supercharger intake was on the port (left) side of the aircraft's cowling to accommodate the Daimler-Benz, rather than Jumo, engine.

Ive been going to SB.com TWICE a day for the last 3 or 4 days and your telling me Harold's and Ernie's stuff sold out in a matter of minutes???
Er, yes.
Yikes..........hope Ernie and Harold are shipping more to SB.com......I hope the links above will help in that regard.

Make that "sold out fast"! Here are links for checking on whether the landing gear and props/crankcases have been restocked.

Aha! Thanks, Edgar!
