...a nice quarter scale build with the Czechoslovak camo choice http://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=55701
-
i also started experimenting how i would replicate the metal lining/rear fairing on the sides of the housings that aerodynamically blend these to the wings and fuselage
we will see how that turns out. i used beer can aluminum for my first try, it has a very scale thickness
comments welcome
Karl
Karl,
I would suggest to use the Tamiya Epoxy putty, it works well for reshaping and making flares. It is easy to shape , sand and scribe to. Just my 2c.
Needless to say that this is already the best 29 in this scale that I've seen to the date!
Thanks for sharing

Exceptional work Kevin, I am blown away by the new look of this old kit. And the choice of camo? well, Galland would have been proud of you . Once again Bravo!

Comrade Dan!, welcome to the show!

... in terms of camo , here is you chance to make uncle Muammar proud!
PS; if you need pictures of the Czechoslovak Mig/chick, i should have some in the stash.

Jammie, the interior color known to me as "tooth paste blue" varies from batch to batch. It is up to your judgment and references .

Nice choice Loic. good luck on you way to the brighter tomorrows

Comrades!
We believe that the bright future is waiting for us somewhere over the rainbow....I mean over the red glow of the internationally accepted ideology of Marxisms -Leninism.
But, do not be fooled by influence of the vicious killers from the wall street, this is not going to be a sentimental Sunday journey!
,,,this is going to be a a long burlak's walk full of hard work , blood, sweat and tears where one has to sacrifice everything for the wealth of our prosperous society. And we can achieve this only with help of 16 tons of thrust generated with help of the hard work of comrade Isotov, strapped in the K-36 in case that some mischievous ,capitalistic bird will try to fuc... i mean compromise our bulletproof ideology!
OK OK where are my pills?
Anyways,,I am in with this masochistic kit and a pile of evil capitalistic aftermarket trinkets.
Cheers
MartinEDIT: Photo bucket has gone, so I deleted all of my posts related to the Revell's kit, without pictures it doesn't make sense.

Amazing choice of subject and very clean build indeed. Bravo!

What!!! Sacrilege!! How come everyone has it and I don't .... in our communistic society we should share.everything!
No, I was just drooling over Dave Pratt's la-5 and here we go another one appears out of nowhere.
comrade Ray , this is the build of builds! Let me know if you need any blueprints or pics, I am more than happy to contribute to the idea of building a prosperous and brighter future with a vision of better tomorows....

Of course it's cool. so many people don't even know about existence of Avia S -92.Besides your build is so clean and well executed. I bet a kit of your choice out of my collection that at least 2 guys at the competition are going to think that this is Trumpeter's mold.

...opsies... ,now I feel bad. I should have submit this photo at the start, just wasn't sure about the "Galland' camo and the photo bucket was giving me a hard time for a while. Sorry about that.
In terms of corrections I would say, there is no limit for perfectionist like yourself. And in most cases it's all just the little easy to fix stuff.( I can give you hand with the scissor link deletion)
then
- 02 on the wheel hub,
- tint of a burnt iron, on the steel sleeves at the rear of the engines
- red or blue on the compressor spinners
- primer/paint touch-ups on the covers of the engine nacelles
Also it looks like that this particular plane is lacking many major stencils, but it can be just the poor quality of the picture. I had another one with the fuselage laying abandoned in the corner of the hangar, but i con not find it at the moment,,, argh!, that would solve the stencil issue

Kev,
Excellent work all the way .You were fighting building challenges that I fear the most, silver finish and clear parts problems and You made it look look so easy, flawless.Plus the choice of marking sets you apart from a everyday stereotypical Schwalbe build .Naturally,it's very special for me since it was the first postwar build/assembled jet in Czechoslovakia. Very inspirational , Thank you.
Martin
. Here is one decent picture of PL-01

Vali,
Another cool subject. I like the fact that have chosen Romanian Lancer instead of another attractive camouflage, there is something special about them. The pilot figure is a great touch, I was thinking around the same lines and wanted to make a pilot with the "face-palm", but so far I did not dare.
Thumbs up!

Welcome to the LPS Jock.
Decent build, I see that you modified the cowling flaps and used an aftermarket wheels. Looks sharp and as beaten as one Corsair should be... ...could you post few more pictures?
Thanks for sharing

Second that.
I am so anxious to see this MIG finished. What is your choice of camo, Russian Grey or Slovak digital scheme?
Cheers
