  1. It's a Corsair.

Tamiya measured the Spits and Mustang at a facility in Canada. I have friends who work there. They also measured up their Corsair.

Anyone ever wonder why the Spits and Mustangs were out in Canada first (even before Japan). It was a thank-you for the research they were permited to carry out.

  2. Thanks all for the replies in regards to the fly wire. I will have to visit Edmonton's one fishing store, I hope this stuff is in stock during the winter months.

One more question Tony, it looks like you attached the fuselage side pieces to the fuselage so that you could run all the wiring through the cockpit. I am guessing you do not need to put the cockpit assembly together as per the instructions. Were there any problems fitting everything together afterwords? I am assuming you can add the instrument panel, the fuselage frames, and the seat and back, all to one side of the fuselage and then attach the opposite side together.

    Clear as mud?

  3. Great work in the cockpit!!!

I'm almost ready to button mine up and paint. I will be doing at least two more glad I got to see your work in the cockpit. Radu's belts look GREAT!

I've thought a number of times I have been ready to button up and then I look at Tony's work and want to add more.

I just ordered three sets of these belts. How fast does Radu ship? He sounds like a solid person to deal with!

  4. hagar,

Nice work! I am building the same kit at the moment and loving every minute of it. One comment though, the two Spits you mention had interior green all the way to the tail. They ceased painting the aft end on 13 Sept 43, both were built prior to that date. Sorry for being a nit-pick.

Hope all is well in Cold Lake,

    Gary

  5. Incredible work, one question about the oxygen hose. Is that the correct routing? I have seen two different routes and storage areas. The other is much higher. I do not have any references showing the route, I am just looking at other builders products.

I guess I have another question too, what color did you paint the hose? And what did you drybrush it with?
