  1. With the fuselage safely cocooned in paper to prevent accidental spraying, the wings are painted in RLM 74 and 75
  2. It is very, very late by now, but Lucian will do his best to fix it. RLM 76 The relevant areas were masked on the fuselage
  3. The rivets do look great and are really, really subtle - to see them you have to be at a distance of no more than 10 to 15 centimeters, at more than that they become invisible. Riveting was a three step affair, first the rivet lines were drawn in pencil, then Lucian used one of the "Rivet-R mini" sets from RB Productions to engrave the lines and finally had a go on each individual "rivet" with this really sharp point of his making:
  4. White primer for the yellow surfaces: Nose. Those tiny details on the belly are lovely! Wingtips Fuselage
  5. He did not follow the instructions, and instead took the upper wing halves (parts I 77 with A 83 and I 87 with B 91), placed them on a straight surface, glued them together on the inside, and then used some Mr. Surfacer to conceal the minute gap. For a perfect fit do not mate the upper halves to the lowers until the parts mentioned above have been glued together and dried! Fit is straight on, but the locating pins need to be cut off, because they become slightly offset and do not fit into their holes on the lower wing halves anymore. Forgot to post the spinner (it is from Barracuda) and the propeller blades.
  6. The fit of the transparent position lights on the Revell kit is less than ideal, so Lucian has made new ones: And done!
  7. Riveting the wing, first the lines are drawn in pencil: After hours of careful work the wings looks like this: Final touches to the fuselage, air intakes specific to the G version were removed (holes filled with Milliput), and replaced with what is appropriate to the F The rivet pattern on the fuselage was also done
  8. Indeed. This is his second model here, the first being his MiG 23 MLA http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=51107
  9. The gear legs have received the hydraulics for the brakes, from stretched sprue and electronic wire insulation: And this is how they look now
  10. Thank you on behalf of my friend. A tiny update, the wheel covers being riveted.
  11. Thank you, Gentlemen! The main gear bays also had to be modified for the narrower tires. Lucian took a shortcut here, using some Aires PE. The "kidneys" on top of thew wings were carefully shaved off, the plastic became paper thin and translucent, but did not produce holes. The cavity was filled in with Milliput for strength and the PE was added on top, after it was brought to shape. Some stretched sprue was then profiled and added on top, followed by a coat of RLM 02 and some weathering Test fit, looking good
  12. Wait, there is more, so much more! The fuselage shape is fantastic, but was further enhanced by receiving its rivet pattern and the external braces specific to the F-2 The oil cooler was modified to a shape and size appropriate for the F-2 And the fuel refill specific to the Friedrich was engraved on the cockpit wall while details for the G-6 were covered:
