So far, I've found that Marui did a 1:35 kit, and Hasegawa did a 1:72 kit, but are there any others, preferably in 1:35 scale (and not die-cast)?

ICM 35531, 35532, and 35538.

Revell did a rebox of 35531 as well, but ICM's comes with figures.

I think the ICM kit is the way to go then, so thanks very much for the assist. (I had asked the same question over on modelcarsmagazine.com, and that was their answer as well.

Here's the ICM box art, for those that may be interested.

You actually reminded me that I wanted one. It got pushed back in my memory by a recent spate of other kits.

I've been watching a 10 part documentary on Hitler's bodyguard for the last few nights, and the big Mercedes is featured prominently in several episodes. I also found what appears to be a very cool book on the vehicle.

The ICM kit is also very well done, with all kinds of itty-bitty parts to test you. ;) I think they do it in 1/24 also if you want a larger model.

I think 1:24 may be the way to go, especially for such an impressive looking vehicle. I also found two books (both now added to my "wants" list).

Apparently it was a very rugged vehicle, and quite quick too, for its day.

For a 1:24 scale kit of a vehicle this large, those are actually pretty decent prices.
