UAE F-16F Block 60

I next started on the Wolfpack Sufa cockpit set.  I was a bit disappointed with the tub.  It is basically the Academy tub with some minor additions.  They added a couple boxes behind the seat(that won't be seen, some hoses on the side panels and some floor details(mostly not seen with the seat in position.  The rest of the set is nice.  For grins I added some floor detail to the Academy tub using two part putty to see if I could duplicate Wolfpack's work.  I'm going to use it in an old Hasegawa kit I started to convert many years ago.

The tub has a HUGE pouring plug that has to be removed and I had to sand away a great deal of other material to get it to fit over the intake tunnel so the top and bottome fuselage halves would mate.

After all that, I took a break from the cockpit and did the Aim-120s that I'm going to use instead of Sidewinders.  After painting, it took me 2 hours to put the decals on the two missiles.

Looks great so far Bruce. I love the UAE Block 60`s and I will follow that topic.

The F is also an future project of mine. Be carefull with the nose!

A friend of mine build an great E and tried to use the nose conversion of the aftermarket kit.

But the nose was way too small and couldn`t attached to the fuselage.

At the end he used the kit nose and modified it instead of using the aftermarket resin part.

I made a few images of the F in Tucson and Nellis.

Maybe that help a little bit for your build.

Cheers Kai

Hi Bruce,

Great start on a sharp looking F-16.

Just for clarity so no one looking to follow your lead gets confused. Did you mean Xactomodels Intake?

Cheers,

Barry
