Menelaos
say folks, where I can find an F-canopy (most front and back part ) that fits in the trumpi 1:24 G2 ?? (conversion into an W Nr 8673 F4 wished...) any sources? Many thanks M Edited April 24, 2018 by Menelaos
thierry laurent
If the plastic is thick enough, you can sand the parts, rescribe cautiously thinner frame lines and then polish again the surface to restore clarity. Not the easiest approach but without aftermarket option this is what I would do.
Thomas Lund
Yeah good question, been thinking the same I would build the frames in styrene and mount clear acetate (or something) as windows. Most of the frames/glass are straight lines anyway. windscreen top is curved but in one direction only while the aft section would be a bit more difficult Remember wheel wells and cooling scoops on nose as well :-)
Thomas Lund
Maybe an Airfix E would be closer by the way - dont know about fit and possible errors in size
MikeMaben
Mr. Brinzan's stuff , can't be beat http://www.radubstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_68&products_id=196 Edited April 24, 2018 by mmaben
Kais
Small wrinkle there mmaben, I think Menelaos was modelling in 1/24th. Perhap the Airfix Emil is the only way. MikeMaben

dodgem37
In my signature there is a thread for a Bf109F-4Z, Trop. Pages 9 thru 13 show various phases I went thru to build one in 1/32nd scale. If I can be of further assistance please let me know. Sincerely, Mark

Adam Maas
I'm confused. Why would you want an F type canopy to put on a G? Because that's the only way to get a late F-4 in 1/24 (plus a couple other minor mods) Edited April 25, 2018 by Adam Maas
Menelaos
Ah, for an F conversion. Now I see Yes exactly I want to make the "Gelbe 14" W Nr. 8673 one of Marseille's ac. That F4 according sources had the G2 propeller... so that makes things easier.... (I hope) Edited April 26, 2018 by Menelaos
