Hi guys it has been a while since I have posted.  The weather has been very nice and I have been enjoying another hobby of mine, road cycling.  I have been working on the build, I just have been too lazy to post any of the photos I have taken - time to fix that!

I plan to add hydraulic lines and wiring to the wing fold area and the following photos show some of the prep work to do that, which is nothing more exciting then drilling holes in various parts.  I looked at a lot of photos and hope I get the lines close to correct.

An overall view of the starboard wing fold area, some of the holes can be seen.

A closer view, I think the part that has the hole drilled in one of the connectors is a hydraulic distributer of some sort, there are other holes that you can't see in the part.

One of the wheel bays.  I am trying to keep the AMS at bay and not run lines and wiring here as this area will rarely, if ever, be seen once the kit is finished and on its display base.

Finally, some plastic rod masquerading as gun barrels.  I may end up taping over the holes on the leading edge of the wing, and I am not sure they can be seen when the wing is assembled, so I probably wasted my time here.

Next up are a series of photos showing the basic priming and painting of the wings and fuselage.  I am going to weather this aircraft a good deal more than I normally do and the pictures show some of the prep such as a dark base (hard to see) to help give the subsequent fading some pop, silver on top of that as a prep for some hair spray chipping, and finally the coat of base colors.  Most of the photos were taken right after spraying before I buffed the surfaces smooth so they look a bit grainy in the photos.

This last series has some shots showing the progress after initial and follow up fading.  The black base gives more depth to the subject once fading is added.  I did not get thing perfect here, but it looks display worthy.  I still have a long way to go with the weathering on this build.

Underside of both outer wings, the left one has been faded.

And the topside of the wings, again the left one has been faded.

Front portion of the fuselage after fading.  The transition down the sides is always challenging for me to bring off.  It is not perfect, but again display worthy.

The bottom of the aircraft.  The black base effect always shows up better on light top colors.  I have also just started doing some weathering.

Thank you for the kind comments guys.  I was able to spend a huge amount of time on the build over the past week and made a lot of progress.  Below are some photos of where I am thus far.  If nothing unusual comes up I should be able to complete this build in the next few days.

Close up of some of the chipping on the leading edge of the wing.  I also attempted to fade the upper color into the lower one.  The chipping is a combination of the hairspray technique and a silver pen.

The last set for today is a progression of shots showing how I finished the base, which is a True Details resin base.  I took these shots on my bench and the harsh direct lighting tends to washout a lot of the subtle shading and highlights.  Those should show up better when I shoot the finished build in my photo tent under diffused lighting.

The copper plug wires and hydraulic lines look great!  The weathering looks really good too. That base is really going to set the whole thing off. That Marsden matting looks right on.
