Really, I have too many projects on the go. This is the WNW Roland C.II lightly modified to be one of the 'planes in the gap between the two kits

Richard,

It looks like a good start! Have you considered adding a dark wash around some of the details? This would make them stand out more, especially once you seal up the fuselage.

Cheers, Tom

Probably not more than I already have.

What a lovely thing the engine is. Shame so little will be visible, I could have saved a lot of time by not modelling the bits that can't be seen

Engine is loose in it's frame at the moment

My fingers are itching to detail the top of that carburettor and wire up the magnetos - I shall resist

Superb!
I keep putting off starting on mine.
Richard your build is very inspiring!
Looking forward to more.
And don’t forget not to fill the seam line when you join the two fuselage halves! That’s how they were actually built and assembled in two halves!

Yep, got that one. There's a covering strip between the two sides, and it's causing a bit of a headache. I'll primer it first to see what it looks like before deciding if it will clean up, or if I'm going to sand it off and glue a strip in place

It's going to have to be paint soon

Progress-10.JPG

If I were building another of these, I'd join the tail parts B14 and B13 to the sides before closing the fuselage. It would reduce the small gap before and behind the tailplane. Not that it was hard to fill

On the other hand, following the suggested sequence (sort of) I could glue the two D14 parts together to make the tailplane then join that to the fuselage before fitting the B13/B14 assembly

OK, I need some help

I'd like to use a very light blue-grey paint, something that is difficult to work out if it is blue or grey

What I could do with is a selection of paint charts - I think - or some ideas on how to achieve this

Richard, the blue gray is quite hard to get...

I often have thought about this when trying to choose my next kit to build and the Roland was in the list and always ended up skipping that. At the end of the day as long as you think it looks good it should work, i don't know if there are any paint chips remaining from that specific color floating around...
