Trumpter A-10A

Recommended Posts

This is the 1/32 scale Trumpter A-10A that I started over a year ago. I now have time to do some more to it and hopefully finish it. I think this group build will help. Here's what it looks like today.

Thanks WrongWay...... Here is a small update on this build. I am really glad to be back doing something to it.

I have been assembling the tail of this beast. Boy it's big. The only thing I did extra is remove the two sensors on the outside of each vertical tail section. You may be able to see where I glued in a chunk of sprue and sanded it flush. There not on the one I am building.

As you can see in the photos I have also started work on the kit supplied engines. They are a bit small but I have opted to use them. I had to drill out the back of each engine as they were a solid casting. I am also chopping and hacking the rear engine out of Cutting Edges resin detail part. The full part is on the left and what I want is on the right. Oh what fun.

I just love the Warthog! When I get around to doing mine, I intend to backdate to prototypical configuration and do the white over flat black scheme! What scheme will you be using? Gotta finish my sculpture of this guy soon also!

There's a lot of ways to build the Warthog and you just have to pick what you like. I am very particle to the Shark Mouth nose and the green paint schemes.

Here's the most recent work on this old Warthog. Got the engines about ready for paint and cut open the access panel in the engine shroud.. Plus got the intake housing sanded..

Had a similar experience with one of these. Replaced the engines with now-defunct Cutting Edge stuff, as well as the wheels and cockpit. It's an impressive aircraft.
