GuildAero
Hi all, this has moved around with us and as far as I know is still all there. I started it ages ago and got too busy to have it on my very small bench, but with work on my model yacht stalled whilst I collect lead for its keel, I have gone back to several model aircraft projects, including this one. Pictures when I drag it out of hibernation! Martin BradG
GuildAero
OK, couple of pictures. As it was left 2 years ago at least. It even has cobwebs in it to prove it. The one drawing I have is yellowed and almost crispy! Lovely jubbly. Martin Zank_Frappa and BradG
Thomas Lund
Very interesting - can you tell us what the differences from the Mk 22 to the XIV low back are ?
GuildAero
Oh, can I remember? At present, Thomas, I have a side view drawing. I must seek out a plan view, but the cockpit area is different, the rudder is different, so is the fin. I haven't checked the tailplane yet. The engine cover seems to be a rotten fit whatever version it's supposed to be! Much of the panel lines need to be changed too and the wings are very different. Obviously being a racer the Mk XIVe is unencumbered with guns, cannon and all that stuff, hence the bits of styrene in places on the wings. But I am having to completely re-acquaint myself with the aircraft after such a long break. Martin BradG
GuildAero
Shape's more or less done on the fuselage, now working on the wings. Can't do pictures as I might end up getting a ransom demand from PB. I don't know how many Gbs I'm running and don't understand all the other stuff. A forum like this should accept pics from people's PCs. Model Ship World does and that's a newly conformed one. So does RC Groups. Thomas Lund
I got the ransom demand from PB, so on the advice of others here I switched to Imgur... works just fine Only I can hardly stand the thought of going through my old builds to replace all the picture links... GuildAero
I don't have enough old builds to bother, fortunately. I might try another picture on PB, see what they do with it. Martin
GuildAero
Just a PB test, having had an e-mail from them today. Well this seems to have worked! Martin BradG
Thomas Lund
Not quite 'shake-and-bake' huh ?
GuildAero
Well, Thomas, I shook the bits out of the box I got from ebay and I usually bake Milliput but I thought that unwise with plastic everywhere! But no, it's requiring a lot of work, but that's fine. When I do slot racing body patterns there's always a spare ball of Milliput so that goes on the Spitfire and I don't waste it. My Hornet Moth model has rather taken priority lately, but the Spitfire is still on the bench and I'm currently re-engraving the panels according to the photos of the Cleveland racer.
