Hello everyone!

I was allowed to start with this one so here it is - very old , almost mint Skyraider :)

I'll upgrade it a bit, some additional details in cockpit etc. I'll keep working features definitely :)

Congratulations!

I've got that same kit in my stash, plus the "Sandy" version with USAF and VNAF markings.

The positionable dive-brakes make this classic hard to beat in my book.

Honestly, there is nothing "mini" about a Skyraider aircraft.

Is there any after market stuff for these, or is it all "scratch-and-scrounge" for any changes/improvements?

Where I wrote about mini Skyraider? :)

There is no aftermarket stuff for this one. Odd scale means that there is no chance for finding anything suitable, even decals. I think I'll go with box decals or I'll find someone who'll print me a new set , maybe this one:

You didn't write "mini", I did!

What I'm saying is that at 1/48 scale, like the Grumman TBF, its' size rivals a lot of 1/32 single-engine fighter, trainer and scout-plane aircraft, and at 1/40th scale it is even more so!

If you have any luck with better decals, I would appreciate your sharing it, feel free to PM me if you do.

Like I aid, I have two kits, one USN like yours, and one USAF/VNAF with the ground-attack/suppression under-wing ordinance.

As for the smaller "iron bombs" carried under-wing, I bet they can be found/scrounged.

I bet that you can find some  AM's in another scale that would be close enough for the old Revell kit.

Oh , sorry :) Of course I'll share my findings :) I don't think that I;ll find some close enough AM sets....this kit is 1/40 , 1/48 can't be used to dress up 1/40 , it's too small. 1/32 is too big. Maybe some bombs can be useful as you said. But cockpit...I don't think so. Gear wells are "flat"...maybe some styrene strips will dress up them but only strips. I want to keep gear working :)

Can I be added to the "list" for a set of fresh these A-1 decals also?

Basically, I am willing to basically buy a copy of whatever you choose Artoor.

I can pay using "PayPal".

No problem Tom, and it would be best if the sheet you want to re-size is from a 1/32.

An hour ago I've finished 1/24 Airfix Spitfire...so I can finally make some progress with Skyraider....Well, this is cockpit. Not so bad for a model from 1966 :)

After getting rid of instrument panel (I've used it only for measuring purposes) I started to detail cockpit. WIP of A-1J from our forum was very helpful: http://forum.largesc...showtopic=52478

I've opened a box with styrene and thats it. Now where I put this lead for safety belts? :)
