While this is quite an achievement, I must say Im bummed a bit too.

My plan has been to secure him in place with an eduard sutton harness I have, Buuuuuuut his massive head is too big to fit the belts around and have them lay right....

So.....do I make some tape belts for Mr. Linebacker or let him float free?

You've made a great job of that pilot Shawn, both the re-carving of the basic figure and then the painting, very very good. For what it's worth, my pilot's moulded seat belts ended on his shoulders so I made the extensions to go back through the bulkhead from a wine bottle top cover.

Thanks gang!

Im starting to enjoy pilot figures vs. dread them..slowly.

I figured out the Vallejo Washes, they're more like a glaze then a wash which is fine once you know it.

Shoulder back belts work for me, I've already got a slot in the armor and the PE as a template.

I will probably use wine foil like Max, easy to work with and I have loads of it.

Maru, funny you mention that as some day I'd love to do a bail out in flight vignette...

I started to glue up the main wing last night as well as the horizontal stabs/elevators and the rudder.

Then I realized I had cut the hole for the radiator backwards!

Not my best moment.

So a bit more filler required then I can close that wing up.

Prop and spinner are glued and filled, time for paint there.

Tonight I hope to get the fuse closed up, then need to figure out the mount for the stand.

Yep, how to mount my in-flight Spitfire is in the back of my mind too, I'll be interested to see what solution you come to Shawn!

Thanks Max, I usually use a brass pin going into a block or sleeve in the fuse.

Just need to decide where and how.

As there isn't much room "under" the cockpit I may need to go just aft of the pit in line with the aerial mast.
