Suggestion of 1:32 Sunderland and Halifax from HK Models
Iain replied to Tony T's topic in LSP Discussion
Grandfather on my mother's side served with 640 Squadron at RAF Leconfeld - a BiG Mk.III Halifax would be a must have for me... Iain -

Dart logos added to the nose - and Air League 'sticker' on the rudder... And a reprint of the engine - wasn't happy with the last - in process of getting some paint on the new one. Oh, and the 'blank' for the instrument panel. Have fun... Iain

Iain replied to Iain's topic in Works in Progress
A little progress over the last week - a mix of Airfix kit, Airscale and Quinta. Photos have flagged up a few things I need to improve - but bear in mind most of these images will be showing at larger than life-size. And with the seat section dry-fitted. Now working on the seat - and the next two formers (partially drilled out). Blue skies... Iain -
Fabulous work so far - look forward to seeing this one come together, it looks a really lovely kit! Iain

Hmmm... *Very* difficult question - and *very* hard to pick only three. If pushed probably the following: #1. English Electric Lightning (any early model in natural metal) - an icon - and the aeroplane that started the fascination with aviation for me. #2. de Havilland Hornet - one of the ultimate piston-engined fighters - and a favourite of Captain Eric "Winkle" Brown, which says rather a lot! #3. A-26K Invader - another performer, as well as a good looker. I could go on some adventures with my buddies with one of those. Other than that - most things silver and from the 1930s. Blue skies, Iain

Not sure *how* I missed the start of this wonderful project - but this one I'm going to *have* to follow! All power to you both - I look forward to seeing it come together. Iain

Seconded - really worthwhile reads - and from a source/eye I trust! Iain -

*If* I know the subject reasonably well it has to look right shape-wise - at least to my personal eyes. Actually, if I'm honest, it's the research and challenge of 'fixing' things I find that probably gives me the most satisfaction in modelling... Oh, and I aspire to #5 on that list: which is probably why I can never, actually, finish anything!! Iain -
This looks like a lot of fun. And that cockpit looks brilliant! Iain
