Hiya everyone - Cees is indeed correct with regards to early 'glass' nose - as is Carl in that I want to do a D-Day bird.
I've been looking at this on and off since the kit came out and fancy having a go at the Mitchell Mk II (B-25C/D) with glass nose - partly because I don't seem to be able to leave anything alone - and partly because I haven't yet found a photo of a Mitchell III (B-25J) in full period D-Day stripes (restored airframes don't count!
The Academy 'G' is the Accurate Miniatures kit re-issued (with all parts for glass nose included) that will help as a 3D reference with the modification work needed on rear fuselage - it's en-route via Royal Snail as I type
Thanks for heads up re. Kits at War decals for these birds - was having a close look at Telford last year - and, yes, on the list to order!
Carl - thanks for the photo! Any idea how accurate the current 'Hot Gen' markings are? I'm aware she now has a bathing suit - but does she replicate an actual airframe/serial number do you know?
