In the meantime I got down to the wing. I painted running lights I painted from the inside with transparent Humbrol paints. Next Humbrol 11.

It is necessary to correct badly camouflaged places.

Nice work! I'm just about at this phase myself. I've had to order some paint though, as I didn't have the correct colours in stock, so I'm just waiting for those to arrive.

I have a question for you though mate: the little 'hole' atop the forward fuselage, which I presume to be the oil filler hatch, seems to be missing a cover on my kit. There's no mention of it in the instructions, and there appears to be no part for it either. Surely you're not expected to leave a hole there! Did your kit provide anything for that?

Wings received the yellow leading edge. I stuck radiators. I prepared the model for painting of belts on wings and the tail. Ready exhalations and the chassis.

  • 1 month later...

A bit of the work at 24. I put signs of the squadron today. Old Airfix decalss, but nicely overlapped each other... I used DecalFix Humbrol. In photographs I saw fine dust from the work on the alternative model.

I assembled the airscrew. A few amendments and ready.

Now that looks familiar! I deliberately avoided the version of A•W2 with the Suez stripes as I didn't want to push my luck with Airfix's decals, and I didn't want to over-complicate the paint job by masking them up.

Good work on yours mate!
