Well I heard about the fellow youve been dancin with
All over the neighbourhood
So why didnt you ask me baby?
Didnt you think I could?

Well I know that the boogaloo is outta sight
But to shake a leisure thing tonight
Would it happen to me and you baby?
I wanna show you how to do it right...

Do it right. uh huh. do it right. do it right, do it right, do it right,
Do it right!
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

[chorus]

Twist it! shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it baby!
Here we go loop di loo!
Shake it out baby!
Here we go loop di lie!

Bend over, let me see you shake your tail feather (bis)
Come on, let me see you shake your tail feather (bis)

So - talking of Tail Feathers...

Tail fins have been primed with Halfords grey plastic primer and laid over a blown up scale drawing from priginal Lockheed plans. Dimensions cross checked and shape corroberated against photo's.

The moulded fins are too short - luckily by about the thicknes of the tailplane. You can see the fin being split in two where it will go either side of the tailplane - along with the cut-out rudders.

Here's one half after surgery. A lot of cleaning up and re-shaping will be needed...

Here's the tailplane - smoothed - shaped/corrected - and under multiple coats of primer...

Have fun...

For a sense of size - that's a 1:32 Trumpeter P-40 for comparison!!

and Graham talks about the size of his bird wow :) :o

hacker  :o

Yup - she's a little on the large side...

Lukily we have a Landrover - so, *if* I ever finish the beast I can get her to the UK Nats in one piece!

Am quite enjoying it again

A real live Large-Scale Connie! MAN that looks good!

I thought I was dreaming.

It's definately real - been lurking in the loft far too long - started her in 1999!! :)

Will be a US Navy EC-121K Warning Star in the Grey/White/International Orange scheme...

Heaven knows when I'll get her finished...

Yikes, that one is awfully large...

...I love it!

Yeah, one day, I'd like to make a large scale classic 50's airliner... :)

Hmmm...

Iain ponders on the possibility of a new fuselage and engines for the B-29 to make a Stratocruiser...

Nope - even I'm not *that* mad!!

Well, my choice would be a Bristol Britannia, an Airspeed Ambassador, a Sud-Est Caravelle or (my favourite) a De Havilland Comet.

De Havilland Comet - now there's an idea.... Could do a Nimrod as well...

How about a DC-6?

Electra would be nice...

Ho hum - it's fun to dream

Though, a Super Connie in Lufthansa colours would be nice, too... :)

Well - I *could* do a civvie Constellation - but I've got my heart set on a Navy boyd - I can weather it then...

OMFG

would ya look at the size on that vac form

dude that's freaking huge, I hope to see the day when this one is finisched B) It's gonna look lovely for sure

how are you planning on displaying this one as I can imagine the base to put this thing on would be huge ;)

also do you need to do the foam trick on every step to make sure its firm enough to hold the weight and all

juyst checking and wondering myself if I would ever be high on glue fumes to try one of those out :) :o

ooh and I'll have fun watching you having fun with this one :D

Hi Frederick,

Hopefully she'll be a stunner when done (at least that's the plan...) - yes - base will be a little on the large side!

Plan on not too much interior - mainly cockpit - but detailed gear bays and dropped flaps (the individual flaps are same size rectangles - so I can make one and cast the rest).

Issue will be making an undercarriage that's strong enough - this thing is starting to weigh quite a lot - and that long Connie nosewheel could be fragile...

If anyone want's to see more pics (poor quailty I'm afraid) - going back to the start in '99 take a look here:

Nah, I don't like their "blunt nose" design. :o

Oh yes, you can spend the whole night with dreaming, and most of the day, too

Well, each to their own, and it has its charme, too :o

Wow! That's great to see you at the Connie again! What a beautiful plane - hard to believe it is so large. I know it is a very major project, but is very nice to see - keep it going!
