Looks nifty, a lot like something I have seen before minus the kinards. If it is so stealthy why does it need the camoflauge?

Cool looking aircraft. Knowing how Russia values close in ACM, this thing can probably turn inside it's own length and back up in mid flight.

Same was happening in Afghanistan beck in 80-ies (mi-24) and Chechnya later on (Ka-50ish)  No better proving grounds in the world.

Targets!Truthfully though, that aircraft does not seem to have very good visability to it's six. For all that yanking and banking Russian jets do, you need to see whats behind you

Remember that the Russians made until now only a dozen of Su-57 prototypes, and 2(!) of them are now operating on the skys of a warzone.

This will give them combat experience, push sales (think India and elsewhere) and also shows the Big Stick to some neighbouring countries that got a bit sloppy about the state borders of Syria.

Regards

With my admitedly limited understanding of modern aerodynamics and combat jet design, I am wondering how the pilot will cope with an engine-out situation, with these highly divergent jet-axes and diminutive vertical surfaces :hmmm:

Salut Hubert! This aircraft has 3D thrust vector engines.

That explains a lot and seems fairly logical.

Merci Tristan !

Cool !

Is that what was call the PAK-FA? I love it.

Following the big Photobucket rip-off attempt, all my pictures on the forum cannot display anymore. I try to reupload the RFI pictures, but i'm not sure i'd have enough time and energy to reupload the pictures of the WIP threads. If you're interested in a specific subject and want me to reupload some pictures, just let me know. :)

This "new" Russian jet looks to me like a copy of the YF-23 or a poor attempt at copying the F-22 Raptor.
