I got nothing more to add without losing my gentleman status.

How about a "metal rudder"? Six small holes are way easier to "fix" than fixing the wrong rudder.

Let he without sin cast the first stone. :-)

That rudder I provide is correct for that tail. Believe me, I know. Right now I am mastering a correct lower belly panel to sweeten the deal with my tail set.

There were no "metal" rudders on the Mustang.

Could you show a close-up photo of the rudder just to clarify? Perhaps I am misunderstanding, but metal rudders did not appear on Mustangs until the "H". Although it was a metal frame, they were all fabric covered through the D and K., with visible rib tapes. True, there was a metal cap on the bottom, but it only covered a small area.

The flaps I can understand if there are moulding issues. Not trying to be difficult, just wondering. Clearly you seem to be filling a demand. I'll likely wait for Revell to issue the later version. After working on the Airfix 1/24 Mustang those six holes look like a negligible issue.

my mistake using the term "metal' for my rudders. My rudders are resin and mastered correctly for a late D model.

The canopy in the D-5 kit is not suitable for the "late" Mustang. You must provide the correct canopies (there were variations) to have a complete set.

From what I am gathering, the OP is not trying to offer a complete set, but just the tail. I would think one would have to source the later canopy from elsewhere.

Your rudder is smooth, when asked you said that it was supposed to represent a "metal rudder". That rudder is incorrect.

Same as the flap thread guys. Discussion about what is and is not offered in the set is fine. Lets not drag this into personal sniping please. Ive cleaned this one up too. Its a vendors thread. Period. Same as all on LSP, lets keep the personal snide stuff out, and stick to what is being offered at hand.

More surprises await you. I'm not done mining this kit for more sales.

it was never intended to be a complete set. I sell ala carte. I let the buyers choose what they want to buy. And not leave them with extra stuff they don't want.

So, where are the academic and scholarly sources to accuracy for your claim to provide a new metal rudder? If a resin replacement is going to be offered there should be scholarly sources provided.
Cheers

And as I said in a post that was removed, why is it OK for you to expect modellers to "do some work" for your kit and it is not OK for the same modellers to fill some small holes? Even in the current version of the kit some holes need to be filled. What is the problem? Furthermore I am absolutely convinced that it will be close to impossible for modellers to find the correct canopies elsewhere because other canopies may not fit the Revell kit. The correct "late" canopies must be provided to convert the Revell kit into a "late" model.

Others have implied that I may have some sort of commercial interest here and that I am trying to "bash" your products. Far from it! I have no intention to do anything in resin for this kit. If I wanted to release such products I would have done it ages ago because I had a massive head-start.

I am simply pointing out glaring errors in your "set".

OK, we're done here. Brian has tried valiantly to keep this thread straight and level, and in the spirit of LSP, but its time is up.
