Shawn M
I have some in 3mm Brian, it is great stuff for lining out! For this I needed something that would maintain a straight line over a span of distance with out distortion. Shaka HI and Out2gtcha

For that I found some great micro kabuki style tape (from HLJ I think) that comes in anything from .04mm to 3mm. The .04mm roll is so thin it reminds me of a thin disk of paper. Its almost hard to tell which side is sticky, kinda like looking at EZ Line. LSP_K2, Shaka HI and Shawn M

Shaka HI
I would think that Tamiya's flex tape (the widest one) would be the better choice...am I crazy but someone changed my post to say "chicken" instead of the word I would call a cat? Ha ha...I think I'm losing my mind... Shawn M
Shawn M
I dont think that word is allowed on the forum Shaka, lol Im not a fan of the cost/ft ratio of Tamiya tape. While it has its uses, for me Im comfortable with 'ol blue for the majority of my masking needs. That said, I use Tamiya Tape, Poster Putty, Frisket Film, Liquid Mask, etc depending on my needs. Shawn M
didn't get a chance to polish the stripes last night, which is probably better as an extra day of drying wont hurt should get a start on it tonight Edited November 9, 2017 by Shawn M LSP_K2
BloorwestSiR
Great looking stripe job Shawn! Nice and sharp. Can't wait to see it buffed up. The tape Brian mentioned is the same one I suggested. Look under Aizu tape from HLJ. It's only a toonie ($2 CAD) for a roll so isn't that expensive. Also, you may want to check a paint supply store for these: They're kabuki tape like the Tamiya ones but the roll was less than $10 and you get a lot more of it per roll. Shawn M
Thanks Carl, will have to go find some. Couldn't sand it out, even with 6000 grit it started to burn through the blue almost immediately. So, I buffed it out with a cotton t-shirt. Managed to get 3 layers of Future brushed on between last night and this morning. Next up is some detail painting, then I can decal it. Shawn M
masks off and ready to start painting details! now gang, whats safe to remove tape residue on future coated clean parts? BloorwestSiR
I would use a fresh piece of the same tape and press it onto the residue. I find it usually sticks to itself and comes off. Might take a couple dabs though. The Cobra looks great Shawn. Gazzas
now gang, whats safe to remove tape residue on future coated clean parts? Shawn, That looks real purrty! Any of those citrus based goo removers should do. I use this one: Others have told me WD40.
