Doomed indeed.

Looks like England's batting, fielding and bowling appears a little mismatched.
What if they brought back Jennings into play?

63-2 when I left... :hmmm:

Chris. .. We're gonna gave to take you to a cricket match next time ...

I'm over in June!!  Heading to Duxford on Friday 15th for 'Photographer's Day'.  Saturday and Sunday...

International Cricket Matches are between different Nations... many teams TAKE part(it's just that the cream of the crop always come out on top so you get to see few well known teams..such as New Zealand, Australia,South Africa, England, Pakistan and India. )..these are TEST MATCHES played over 5 days (there are 3 days Test Matches too).

Play for the glory of it all etc...

When AUSTRALIA Play ENGLAND for ASHES ..It's just between those two teams and I think they play 6 matches and the one w
ho wins the most Test Matches out of 6 wins and keeps or retains the ASHES.

I MAY be totally incorrect but that is how I remember it.
Regular or everyday cricket matches played are county matches to get go the top of that league like Soccer.

So for example:Yorkshire might play Worcestershire.
Or Leicester might play Lancashire ... and so on...thise are County Matches.and just like Soccer they play the next team etc until whoever wins.. it's all about County Championships.

England players playing now usually play for their own home counties such as Sussex, Surrey etc to give an example.

(And friendly rivalry reigns.. most famous one is between YORKSHIRE AND LANCASHIRE... commonly known as the WARS of THE ROSES. LANCASHIRE=RED ROSE.
YORKSHIRE =WHITE ROSE.
In history there was WARS OF THE ROSES between feudal lords of the 2 counties.).

They will never risk that. If Broad comes off on the day, he is unplayable.

Gerhard... I don't understand what you mean .. unplayable?

He bowls so well at some point, that he'll take wickets, regardless of the batsman.

For instance, 8/15 vs Australia & 6/17 vs South Africa & 6/25 vs India.

However, those spell are becoming increasingly rare and, in the meantime, he chucks down an awful lot of rubbish.

I'd drop him.

England lead by 128 runs, with 3 wickets remaining - Buttler & Curran at the crease.

If Buttler does one of his big, fast knocks, Pakistan could be chasing around 250 to avoid an innings defeat.

Picking two teenagers in Bess & Curran looks like it's paid off. Very un-England!

Not sure Curran (or his brother) are the answer in Test cricket due to their lack of pace. Handy one day players though.

The left arm variety is good to have but the best left armers always have serious gas ie Wasim, Starc, Brett Schultz. I still reckon he was the biggest injury loss I remember. If he had stayed fit, he and Allan Donald would have terrified a few batting sides.

I never understand the matches played, you here the commentator say They've one, they've won! Then the following day they're playing again? Never got that!
