  1. I use 1x1 mm brass profile for the stringers. Hair clamps are used to fix them when gluing. I must also point out that the "original drawings" for the formers are not exactly dimensioned and the positions of the notches and cut-outs for the fuselage tubes are not always exact. That's why I had to make some adjustments so that the stringers run straight or curve nicely in smooth lines. ..until next time Thomas
  2. Unfortunately, the notches for the stringers are not always exactly right and I have to correct some of them with a needle file so that the stringers are in line.
  3. To get the correct silhouette on the back of the fuselage, I checked with a cardboard template.
  4. Next i want to finish the upper half of the fuselage. I prepared the fuselage formers a long time ago. To place the stringers I first had to build a jig to fix the formers in the correct position. I used balsa wood scraps for this.
  5. The aluminum sheet is still a little discolored from the thermal treatment. ..
  6. It is important to anneal the aluminum sheet before pressing so that it fits better into the press mold.
  7. I made a press mold with 0.6mm wires for the corrugated sheet metal for the the heelboards. The counterpart is a piece of balsa wood on the brass plate. The whole thing is pressed between the vice jaws. To deepen the grooves a little more, I roll them with a small self-made roller. (a piece of silicone tube on a wooden cylinder
  8. Hi geedubelyer. Yes, you're right. Thanks for the tip. I'll try to smooth out the rough texture a bit with a little more color. Thomas
  9. The assembled and painted grip. the color takes a little of the surface roughness.
  10. I used 1.5mm solder wire for the spade grip as it is the easiest to bend. Before (!!) I wrapped it with 0.3mm copper wire. The surface could be a little less rough for my taste, but sometimes I have to make compromises... The brake lever is made of 1mm brass sheet
  11. Next thing is the spade grip. First I turn the gun firing button (3mm brass rod)
  12. The rudder pedals in place. The foot straps made from a strip of heat shrink tubing.
