Thanks all. Today I jumped into the weathering and tried a few new techniques. I figured with such a beat up airframe it really needed to be significantly weathered, but I really didn't want to over do it. Looking at pictures they could be pretty worn though. This was a bit worrying because I was basically experimenting on such a big build. I am largely happy, but I can see a few bits that need fixing (ugly silvered decal etc.) I

What a great and inspiring build!

 

What colour did you use for chipping on the wings?

It is two layers, the first a mix Tamiya acrylic neutral grey and titanium I think, and the second some lighter grey. I was looking for something that would contrast with the camo colours and give an impression of dull worn metal. I'm not really keen on shiny metal chipping.
