 THE FISHER SEA FURY FB.II

Lt Peter “Hoagy†Carmichael

803 Squadron, HMS Ocean

9 August 1952

This is my second Fisher Sea Fury, the first Sea Fury being my introduction to Fisher resin kits. On my first Sea Fury, I had a problem with the one piece wing mating to the fuselage and the cowl assembly correctly. One email to Paul, followed up with a few photos and Paul had three replacement cowls and two replacement wings in the mail … Incredible customer service and support. Once the parts were received, the kit went together flawlessly. My first Fisher Sea Fury;

This time around, I decided on Lt Peter “Hoagy†Carmichael's 'Mig Killer' of 9 August 1952 with the folding wing version of the kit. For reference I purchased the Hawker Sea Fury by Richard Frank after reading Kev's review; just loaded with detail photos and drawings.

Since the kit isn't exactly new, I attached just a few photos of the main castings, decals and G Factor gear. Gorgeous decals are provided in the kit, a crystal clear resin canopy and PE as well.

Paints: Mr Color of course

Primer: AK Gray Prier and Microfiller

Glues: Loctite CCA and Zap A Gap Medium thickness CCA

Seatbelts; HGW instead of the PE belts I used on my previous build.

Decals: Those in the kit

Markings and color Guide: Fisher Models

Thanks for checking in.

Peter

Thanks John

Seems over the last few years, I'm getting addicted to sea Furies. I remember your build and hope mine comes out half as good as yours did

I think a Sky and Extra Dark Sea Gray Sea Fury would be wonderful.

My friend Steve Bakke built a Fisher Sea Fury in RCN markings many years ago. It was a fine looking model, but the paint scheme just looked.....meh.

Way to go Peter!  :clap2:

I loved the first one you did so I'm looking forward to seeing your work on this one. I also have one of these in the stash, untouched, and collecting shelf dust. I'll be doing it in the same RCAF markings as yours but with the wings folded.

:yahoo:

Cheers,

Wolf

Pete, No, no and NO. I recall we agree your were going to build an helicopter and not a plane....i think I have the recorded conversation here somewhere. where you said you would..LOL . Another one of your stunning build in the making, will be watching.

Great start BTW.

' three replacement cowls and two replacement wings in the mail …'

Very generous.  Bravo, Paul.

Are the wings single sections?  If so, casting that wheel well with undercut is a thing of beauty.  Not to mention the engine detail.

Sincerely,

Mark
