rohan
Can anyone tell me if the RAAF F18As have the tie down hooks and anchor markings on their undercarriage like the US NAVY have or is it just the US Navy that have this?

rohan
The only difference I know is that the catapult bar on the RAAF Hornets does not have the catapult attatchment parts. Its replaced with a metal bar. This was because the catapult bar caused shimmying so they replaced it with just a metal bar to prevent this. jmel
The catapult bar didn't cause shimmying. The catapult bar was initially not installed, and only a small square weight was installed in its place. That caused shimmying, so then they went with the rectangular bar that looks a bit like a catapult bar at first glance. The upcoming Modern Hornet Guide shows pics of all this. rohan
Did we do the same and replace the catapult bars on the F18Fs or did we leave the catapult bar on them?
