TimHepplestone
Does anyone know the correct colour for the canvas covering the inside of a BF 109E wheel well. Previous threads have suggested faded blues to olive greens. I'm currently building Eduards 1/32 BF109 E-4 profipack. The instructions suggest black for the well walls, (I assume they mean the canvas) and aluminum for the roof of the wheel bay. Any 109 experts out there that can clarify for me. Thanks in advance Tim
LSP_Mike
I match the "reed green" of tropical web gear. Try some OD, and add a dash of yellow.
Hacker
l always go for either Tamyia XF-55 buff if a bit newer aircraft or go with a tan colour. they seem perfectly acceptable to me anyways Hacker
G-Man
Pretty sure they are supposed to be RLM02.
RBrown
I have seen them described as green, dark blue, dark gray, and black. MikeMaben and LSP_K2
Gazzas
The darker color shows better against the RLM 02 much better than any light green or khaki...
MikeMaben
I have seen them described as green, dark blue, dark gray, and black. Yep, could be any of the above. Probably changed over time. Gazzas
LSP_Ray
Sneaking hunch there was a range of colors used. Whatever was close enough: tan or natural canvas, RLM02, olive, green, etc. Doubt they cared much as long as they came fast. That isn't based on solid research, just from typical reading of wartime production of materials. LSP_K2, Out2gtcha and MikeMaben
