1/72 Tamiya Zero 10/10

Some time ago I asked you what 1/72 kit of a Japanese plane would be good to build as a light diversion. The consensus was the Tamiya Zero. I followed your advice and BOY what a kit. The engineering and fit is superb and the level of detail is perfect for this scale. I had a blast building it, any imperfections are my fault.

 

Everything is OOB, Tamiya paints used throughout, and the kit decals even settled down perfectly. Even the yellow stripes on the wings and the prop are the kit decals. My only beef is that some decals are slightly out of register. I can live with that.

I had fun and now I am on to the 1/72 Hien, which is even better.

Terrific build; the Zero looks great. Nothing wrong with working in other scales along with 32nd to keep the juices fresh. Looking forward to the Hein

I am waiting for some canopy masks for the Hien and then it's off to the paint shop.

I was probably one of the people urging you to get this kit.  I've built it myself and it is a stunner as you say.

 

Their newer 1/48 Zeros are also excellent kits with lots of detail; they fall together too.
