Progress continues...

I have added some plumbing in the tail bumper.

And some hydraulic lines to the main gear.

Wheel hubs painted.

Some main gear well retraction springs.

The main gear doors are split and when on the ground the forward door is closed. So all of this detail will not be seen. Also the kit door did not fit very well so I made a replacement that fit exactly.

And a little gloss black for the nose cone.

Thats all, Dan

And a little more progress.

Wheels have been painted and assembled.

Nose gear door assembled.

Navpac pod, I added an electrical connection at the back of the pylon. Fins still need a little work.

Rudder, fits quite nicely but a bit of a gap at the top. I added a thin shim to make it just a wee bit taller. There is still a gap but this is where the fuel dump will go.

Main gear painted.

Hey, I'm baaaaack,

Ok I have been working on a small improvement to the rudder/tail interface. The kit gives you a basic butt joint but on the actual aircraft the rudder fits into a slight recess. I am trying to duplicate this. I have super glued a small strip the will provide the correct look and am now trying to get a clean joint. You can see the original installation in post 20.

Second putty/sanding attempt.

And some pre-shading on the bottom. I am just a rookie when it comes to this. I have applied a light grey. This will then have thin coats of gloss white applied over it to tone everything down.

Panel lines have been enhanced with a pencil.

looking good. Your modulation of grey and white for the bottom is looking sharp. I will enhance the panel lines with something else that a pencil.. I think  a wash will give you a better definition.

Amazing progress on the Skyray ... details to the gear looks superb. Pre-shading looks just fine and should do the trick.

Keep 'em comin
