Iain
Thanks for heads-up on those Tony - hadn't seen them before! Iain
Chek
Great - Eduard provided one in their set for the Trumpy kit, but inexplicably omitted it from their set for the Revell kit. And naturally, the two aren't interchangeable. I think Marcel made it work on his 3 Sqn Typhoon build, but I'l be blowed if I can figure out how he did it. Hello Check, The Eduard brass perforated intake plate for the Trump kit is larger than would be required for the Revell kit so I cut down the part meant for the Trump kit. It has been a while since I did all of that so I cannot remember exactly how I handled the edges but I think I sized the cut to the plan dimensions of the Revell part. If you want more detail I can try and dig up some pics I may have taken at that time. Cheers, Marcel
Chek
Thanks for your kind offer Marcel, but hopefully it'll all be academic if the CWS piece works as advertised. I just couldn't work out how to make it fit without changing the perforation 'block' patterns, so put it aside until inspiration came, or a better part. As it happened, the latter transpired, but if the need for a Typhoon had been more urgent, I'd probably not have been prepared to wait the three or four years! And IIRC (it's been some time since) as the perforated ramp was the only item I wanted from the Eduard PE set, it could go towards some poor soul desperately trying to wring some extra goodness out of the woeful Trumpy attempt. About those perforation patterns, I think I masked some sections off while filling and sanding others to adjust the shapes. Boy that was a while back.
