Hi Richard

Those are really nice builds.

The Endeavour is quite an important ship to Aussies and Kiwi's

(just as Bluenose is to Canadians) as it is the ship,

that Captain James Cook travelled to Australia and New Zealand, and that lead to

settlement, and here we are today :goodjob:

A replica was built in Australia some years ago and does actually sail

some info on it

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for looking at my other passion,

Nice,

I am surprised how many of us LSPer's build wood ships and didn't even know it

Ron

Hi Ron, I noticed Jerry posted a ship so I thought I would too. not sure how many model ship builders there are here. Do you build ships?

Wow,that is some nice work there,

J

Hi Jerry

I liked what I saw of your build, How many have you done?

Hi Alan, Yes I did know the HMS Endeavour was an imortant ship for Aussies & Kiwis, I built this one due to some family members back in 1898 immigrated to New Zealand and Canada, I immigrated from England in 1981 now a Canadian so had to build these two ships. The model is made by Coral, and I found so much wrong I scratch built all the top deck, masts, etc.

It still amazes me how these ships went all around the world for months, years ans most still got home.

Again thanks all for your kind comments.

Hi Don,

Sorry for the long time in repling, thanks for your kind words, ship building is very time consuming and can take years to finish, but it is alot of fun because you make every piece. Take an example the Bluenose planking every plank has a taper.

Anyway thought you might want to look at a 1:16 scale Sopwith F1 Camel made from kit but not to scale so I bought a book Cross $ Cockade and it had scaled drawings in it so I scratch built alot.

Hope you enjoy
