  1. Hi Paulpk. The formers are plastic sheet. See page 1. Thomas
  2. Finally, I painted the whole thing with light brown Arcyl paint to imitate wood. Despite the filigree structure, the skeleton is surprisingly stable. Of course - it is a HURRICANE ! Until next time! Thomas
  3. For the wider stringers on both sides, I fixed 0.5mm wire at the top and bottom.
  4. With minor corrections, I managed to do it anyway.
  5. Here is a drawing of a typical former with the scale indicating the size. With this vague information, inaccuracies are unfortunately inevitable.
  6. I use 1x1 mm brass profile for the stringers. Hair clamps are used to fix them when gluing. I must also point out that the "original drawings" for the formers are not exactly dimensioned and the positions of the notches and cut-outs for the fuselage tubes are not always exact. That's why I had to make some adjustments so that the stringers run straight or curve nicely in smooth lines. ..until next time Thomas
  7. Unfortunately, the notches for the stringers are not always exactly right and I have to correct some of them with a needle file so that the stringers are in line.
  8. To get the correct silhouette on the back of the fuselage, I checked with a cardboard template.
  9. Next i want to finish the upper half of the fuselage. I prepared the fuselage formers a long time ago. To place the stringers I first had to build a jig to fix the formers in the correct position. I used balsa wood scraps for this.
  10. The aluminum sheet is still a little discolored from the thermal treatment. ..
