Greetings, Builders of the Empire,

That dastardly Shadow has struck again! After the success of the Carrier GB our nameless, faceless benefactor has gone to the well and generously donated...

This time around we will have the following to raffle at the conclusion of the GB.
  • Czech Model F2A-3 Buffalo (RAAF & USAAF)
  • Hasegawa P-47D Thunderbolt (79th Fighter Group)
  • Hasegawa Ki43-II Oscar (Early Version)
  • Hasegawa Ki-61 -I Hein Tony (244th Flight Regiment)
  • Special Hobby P-39D Airacobra
  • Hobby Craft RAF P-51 Mustang Mk.1A
I was pretty blown away when the first offer was made. That he's done it yet again is amazing! Keep in mind that these aren't coming from a 'sponsor' or business, just a member who really enjoys the Group Builds and likes to give something back. That's pretty special in my book. All kits are brand new and unopened.

Please join me in expressing some gratitude to The Shadow for his continued generosity!!

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.

That is most generous!
Looking at those 6 models, it is also possible to say that the Shadow is not even dealing with a stash "size limit issue" as some of the kits are amongst the latest release... those were bought recently or even maybe on purpose I would say!
That is just awsome.

Need to go back to modelling now... and I will cross fingers in order to have as much luck as per the carrier based GB :P

In the work :   Dornier Do 335   /   A-1H/J Skyraider   /   Mirage F1 (Scratchbuild)  /  Mirage IIIC

Completed builds :   Hawker Tempest (kitbash)   /   Nakajima B5N Kate (Scratchbuild)   /   Spitfire Mk I

Master pattern work:   DB-603 Engine    /   F4U-1 Corsair engine bay

Thanks for the donations Mr Shadow. I'm going to join in on this GB I believe. I have an idea for a A6M Type 21.

Wows. Some nice bits, there - Thanks to you-know-who-you-are (even if I don't!) I've never seriously done a GB with the idea that I'm hoping or trying to win a prize (the fun is in the sharing all the build experiences for me); but these goodies are first-rate!

Many thanks, Herr Shadow! That is very generous. Beneath the fun the GP will be, this is a nice benefit for the participating members.

This, gents, is what the true spirit of the hobby is about.

Now - I have to actually build something!! I still haven't decided what it'll be, though...

Shadow, you've got a big heart to be so generous and not seek something in return. This really adds a nice perk to the group builds which are rewarding in and of themselves. Thanks to you and to the crew of LSP for making this all possible.

Sorry to chime in so late. I get in group builds for the commorader.. er com cam? togetherness of it all and as an incentive to get a model finished (otherwise mister short attention span here would have way to choose the next project). I know several people who love the hobby as much as our mysterious benefactor. I myself have no monetary surplus to contribute but I teach seminars at contests and I always work the Iwata table at the Rosemont iHobby show so I know what it is to love the hobby. All I can say is I hope to one day be in a postion where I have to resources to enable my heart to go where it wants, which is farther down this same path.

Question: Which GB are we talking about here? the Japanese? the Aircraft Carrier? Please which? Also, what is the deadline? :)
