Wurzacher
Thank you all, guys! But the pictures do caress my build for the finish on the panel lines is not really this good as you see on the pics... Having found the mood to finally shade the panel lines on the wings gave me the "kick" to restart this project after a 2 months hiatus. And your warm words, my friends, do motivate me further! Thank you! @ Richdlc: Concerning the swastika: according to German law it is forbidden to publicly show or distribute the sign of a swastika ( and a lot of other National-Socialist symbols). It is not a problem to show or publish a historical picture of an original German aircraft, but definitively is against law to show the swastika on a picture of a model kit of a historical aircraft or tank, or warship, or... So, if you have an old wartime slide from your grandpa showing him in the cockpit of a downed German aircraft this is ok regarding to German law. But if I would show my Ju 88 model in public on a model show with the swastika not hidden I most likely would get in serious trouble... Surely we have visitors from Germany here at LSP, too. If only one of them is this moron I mentioned earlier or one of them would be German prosecutor this could turn nasty for me. Thomas

God, I can just imagine some idiot at a model show getting offended & smashing your model up!
JamesHatch
Hi Thomas, I imagine there would be no issue here as LSP is an American-based site, not a German one, so I presume the laws regarding what you can/can't post would be written in American law, and not German. Still...I do like that smiley! It looks twisted.

I am no lawyer (Iwished I was, ya know what I mean! ) but I think it could be a problem for me as a German living in Germany when showing a swastika on any website. I don´t think this German law has a kind of a regional restriction in it that makes it stop prosecuting a German citizen because of showing this sign on a non-German website. But, If you agree, let us stop this here. Let´s talk Junkers, ok? Thomas
Wurzacher
Added the MG 15 bodies to their respective clear parts. I glued them in with my trusty Gator Glue and fixed the parts with UHU´s equivalent of BluTac until dry: I´ll add the slotted barrels from Master as the very last part of my build due to their touchiness. This is maybe the shortest update I did so far, but at least it is one! Take care, Thomas

Wurzacher
Welcome back, Guttorm! I am very happy to see you here again! Good news that you managed to save your 1:1 restauration budget, my friend! You and your team work wonders, would have been a shame to stop this short before the first flight after about 71 years... No kidding: I really admire the work you and your team do up there in Norway . So I am really relieved to see you continue on this fantastic restauration. Rock on, dude! And now to something a little bit smaller than Guttorm´s Junkers in Norway!
Wurzacher
Thanks to my good buddie JamesH I got my ass up to do the exhaust stains on the wings and the engines: I made a very diluted mix of Gunze H310 Brown FS 30219 and H077 Tire Black. Gave just one drop of each in my Harder & Steenbeck Evolution and added 60 drops of Gunze Thinner, mixing this in the cup with an old soft brush. As you can see I added the wheel well doors, the dive brakes and the resin wheels to the wings.
Wurzacher
Added another mix of the same two colours (three drops of each, thinned with 40 drops of thinner) to the first traces of exhaust stains to get them a little more depth. The exhausts themselves were from Quickboost and have been finished some moons ago: They have been sprayed with Alclad Gun Metal and finished by applying several pigments. I especially like the open ends of each exhaust tube. Hope to get them into the engine nacelles soon!
Wurzacher
This is one of the engine nacelles showing the window with auxilary instruments in the nacelle itself. I decided to paint over the window on the outer side of each nacelle to prevent having another spot that could have reflected the sunlight and by this could have betrayed the plane to the enemy. I have no clue if this has been done on the original aircraft, but I think could have been done.
JamesHatch
Amazing work Thomas. Surely you must have had a sneaky fit of these wings to the fuselage? Come on...don't keep an idiot in suspense!
Wurzacher
James, thank you very much! I really appreciate your comment (but won´t repeat this "my master" thingy we had some posts ago... ) Yes, the wings at least on my kit fit this good that I will not glue them to the fuselage when this model gets finished. Makes it a little bit easier to transport this big bird to an exhibition some day. I had the wings on and off the fuselage whenever it was appropriate to continue the build. They still fit like a glove! To the great people at Revell: thank you for a superior job on this kit!
