Jeff,

See http://www.largescaleplanes.com/Marketplac...ce/Mosquito.htm

The Paragon F.VI and FB.XVIII conversions listed there included fighter cockpits, whereas Marine Air Products' cockpit set was for the B.IV bomber version represented by Revell's kit. Unfortunately, Paragon has ceased production and Marine Air Products is out of business.

You will on occasion see the Paragon pits on eBay, but prepare to lop off an arm and a leg, they have been going for $80-$90 for the sets.

There has been a rumour going around that Paragon might start back up one of these days but nothing to substantiate it so far.

The guy behind Paragon, is involved with F1 car racing or so I'm led to believe, which was a reason for folding the resin business. There was talk of someone like MDC taking over the moulds but this has yet to pass. Whilst the stuff is generally of a good standard, there are as with all of these things, issues with accuracy.

I have the Paragon 2stage Merlins for the mozzie and the wheels, ( a PRXIV project thats stuck on the wheel well area) at this scale the detail on the merlin units isn't up to par with smaller scale representations ( I have the Aires 48th stuff also and the level of detail here is substancial). In a nutshell I'd be wary of getting into bidding wars on places such as e-bay for this sort of stuff, I also have resin Paragon flaps for the Mustang again these missing the crucial undercut section where the root fillet on the wing upper and lower surfaces are assymentrical ( i.e. there is insufficient resin to drop the flap as its chord is partly faired under the upper wing root but missing from the Paragon item)

To be blunt the resin FBIV cockpit isn't upto the standards set by the likes of MDC or Jerry Crandall's stuff, but it was mastered some years ago now and resin technologies have moved on....

On the other hand, many of Paragons subjects are the only game in town or were and the demise is a sad loss when you bear in mind that the resin supplied can be reworked to an extent.

This isn't an attempt to trash PAragon's stuff, just point out that if you have the skills, scratch the cockpit, you'll get a better buzz and a better cockpit for your efforts....Eduard do brit brass instrument panels and as its a standard RAF bfp you could steal one from a Spit or such like. try using the technique by Rato Marczak to build the pilots seat...
